Dragonborn

The Dragonborn are direct descendants of the Five Dragons of Costauc, in the Principalities of Serrai, and are ancient beings that have live in the tall peaks of the mountains for as long as anyone can remember. Ruled by the Elder Prince, Feirax Aldeanthaad, from the Great Spire in the clouds, far above the capital city of Iorqul. The Dragonborn are honorable, proud and contemplative, and rarely bother with troubles of outsiders.

When Katmakan Yumu of the Tieflings laid claim to the Constellation Isles, they met with Feirax to discuss their terms of surrender. An event now written in legend. When Katmakan demanded the Elder Prince to kneel, standing atop the tallest spire in Iorqul, he was thrown off the ledge, yet landed unharmed in the city beneath with a contract of surrender in his grasp which declared Costauc ever a vassal of Serrai. The Tiefling King has not set foot on Costauc ever since, and is seemingly content with leaving the Dragonborn to their own devices.

There is little trade with the outside world, but delegates of the Dragonborn can be found across the world, gathering information and resources to bring back home.

Dragonborn hatch without genitalia and do not reproduce, they choose their own names within the first 6 years of growth. As such, there are no inherently masculine or feminine names, and Dragonborn have a difficult time seeing the differences of sex in the other races. It is passively assumed all Dragonborn are male, as far as pronouns are concerned.

Age

Young Dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. No Dragonborn has reportedly died of old age as of yet, so it is unknown how long the can live. The only documented deaths are from those who gave their lives in defense of Costauc, or during their travels across the world.

Alignment

Dragonborn tend to extremes, making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil (represented by Bahamut and Tiamat, respectively). Most dragonborn are good, but those who side with Tiamat can be terrible villains.

Size

Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well above 200cm tall, average weight around 120kg. Your size is medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Dragon Descendant

The characteristics of a Dragonborn are determined entirely by their mother dragon they descended from.
They are born in batches of 20-40, when the dragon lays its eggs every half century.
There are five mother dragons, settled in their roosts atop spires and mountains around Costauc.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.
