Homebrew Yordle Species Details

(Most) Yordles are always jolly by nature, they exude playfulness everywhere they go. It is believed that Yordle's unique type of optimism is gained through exposure the Yordle's plain of existence, they like referring to it as Bandle City, named after the legendary Bandle Tree (said to have portals to endless realities sprouted on each of its branches). It appears being away from their home world for too long can cause a Yordle to slowly lose their fabled jolliness and its thought that with enough time confined to a different plain one could even go insane, luckily, all Yordles have access to Bandle City Portals, all of which are said to be hidden in plain sight, away from the eyes of anyone else who would wish to enter, for if a non-Yordle entity were to enter said portal who knows what might happen (time works differently in Bandle City after all)

Yordle Traits

Every Yordle is unique, however they all share a few traits in common with one another.

Magical Adaptation

Yordles who travel away from Bandle City become attuned to the natural magic of the region they reside in. Choose 1 of 10 Runeterran Regions to gain a trait from (if you aren't playing in a campaign based on Runeterra, then just change the 10 options to other cities/regions/biomes in your campaign setting).

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity Score increases by 1 and your Intelligence Score increases by 1.

Age

Yordles mature at the same rate as Humans, however its believed that they can live for centuries (time works differently in Bandle City after all).

Alignment

Most Yordles are Lawful Good due to their connection to Bandle City, however with this connection weakened by time spent away, they're Alignment and Personality tend to change based on where they take up residence for example: A Yordle in Noxus will be filled with bravery, desire to fight for a greater cause and just a touch of bloodshed.

Size

All Yordles average around 2.5ft, never exceeding 3ft. Your size is Small.

Speed

Due to their stubby legs, Yordles walk slower than other humanoids. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Yordle Vision

All Yordles and only Yordles are able to identify Portals to Bandle City, a Yordle Portal could be anywhere: disguised as a rock, written in ancient Runes, at the bottom of the sea and atop the tallest of mountains, or in my sandwich, the Portals Locations are always changing, you could've passed 7 of them on your way to work this morning. Even if a non-Yordle were to somehow discover one, it wouldn't matter, for only a Yordle can open a Yordle Portal.

Bandle Magic

The magic of the Bandle Tree flows through you, attuning you to the powers of nature. You know the druidcraft cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the animal friendship spell as a 2nd level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the pass without a trace spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Languages

Yordles have their own language, again, named after the legendary Bandle Tree at the heart of their great realm. You can speak, read and write Common, Yooyesh and 1 Runeterran language of your choice (Velarian, Dulunian, Frelian, Astakish, Oeshish, Efric, Solerian, Yazic, Ioniish, Vastayan or Minotour).
