Homebrew Weeping one Species Details

"No one quite knows where they came from, but they're as old as the Universe, or very nearly and they have survived this long because they have the most perfect defence system ever evolved. They are Quantum Locked. They only partially exist when they are being observed in the eye. The moment they lock eyes directly, are trully seen by any other living creature they slow down or freeze. No choice, it's a fact of their biology.  you can't kill a statue and of course, a statue can't kill you either, but then you turn your head away. Then you blink. Then, oh yes, it can. That's why they cover their eyes. They're not weeping, they can't risk looking directly in the eyes of each other. Their greatest asset is their greatest curse. They can never be seen. Loneliest creatures in the Universe."

The Weeping Aasimar lineage provided in this section represent a physical and magical transformation that alters you in fundamental ways. You can still appear as you once were, but you’ve changed in significant ways that might overwrite your once physical or magical capabilities.

As a celestial Aasimar who becomes a Weeping one, for instance, loses their connection to their full celestial ancestry as the deathless power of falling from grace surges through them. Some of your ancestral legacy traits may remain but nothing feels as it was were, as a living statue or carcass of your old self you awaken from the fall noticing the petrification of your wings, the cold hardening of your skin, your craving to remain still for odd periods of time when people are looking at you, the constant pain in your eyes that makes you have the need to cover them with your hands and the uncanny showing very subtly on your expressions.

people and creatures now will be wary of your odd nature without being trully able to pinpoint why at first, some even believing you to be a statue if you are not careful to move around often enough, its getting harder to refrain for your need to feed of vital energy, harder to remember to act... alive.

it is not known the reason why Falling Celestial Aasimars sometimes turn into Weeping ones, some believe its a curse obtained by offending their maker, others that they have been touched by a elder entity, the truth remains unfound, all that is known is that there is no cure yet.

Weeping one Traits

When you create a character using a Weeping Aasimar option here, follow these additional rules during character creation.

Ability Score Increases

When determining your ability scores, you increase one of those scores by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or you increase three different scores by 1. You follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy.

Your class’s “Quick Build” section offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You’re free to follow those suggestions or to ignore them. Whichever scores you decide to increase, none of the scores can be raised above 20.

If you are replacing your race with a lineage, replace any Ability Score Increase you previously had with these.

Languages

Your character can speak, read, and write Common, celestial and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of widespread languages to choose from. The DM is free to add or remove languages from that list for a particular campaign.

If you are replacing your race with a lineage, you retain any languages you had and gain no new languages.

Creature Type

Humanoid Aberration

Age

Weeping ones do not age. Time itself parts to let them through- perhaps out of some age-old pact, perhaps out of fear.

Claws of the reborn

You have advantage on attacks made with unarmed strikes. Your unarmed strikes deal 1d8 slashing damage. This damage increases to 1d10 at level 5, 1d12 at level 6, 2d6 at level 11, and 2d8 at level 17.

Dont blink, unobserve

When observed directly you start feeling tired and your natural movement speed slows down.
beware not to be stared directly in the eyes or you will become petrified until eye contact breaks.
If you break eye contact you become unobserved and gain advantage on Initiative checks.
