Homebrew Balanced Witcher Species Details

Greeted with stares and whispers, treated with mistrust and fear, Witchers can come from any and all races and are the process of selection and mutation; maybe a project done by an alchemist, maybe they are an  organization within a kingdom, or even a personal project, whatever the case, all witchers must have drinked an special concoction that only works after  certain rituals and training is done, otherwise it is useless to drink it, and  very few survive this process, for the potion will indeed change your race to that of a witcher.

Witchers are generally tall ranging fom above 5 feet to even 7 feet, and tend to have a good balance between broad and slender build. They all have unnatural cat-like eyes, often yellow- colored, and some have markings in their faces as if a terrible curse is affecting them, sometimes this markings can even extend to the body. They resemble humans however traces of their past race are allways founded in them, and only the most illiterate villager would not recognise their prewitcher race or at least recognise their mutant nature.

Witchers all behave diferently, mostly based in their purpose for becoming one, tales of charismatic talkers are as frecuent as those of bloodthirsty scammers, between that, their appearances and the process of becoming one, Witchers have horrible reputation and even people who know of their efficiency distrust them. Even with all that and the certain risk of death, there still those fool or determined enought to undergo the process in order to protect the world from monsters or take advantage of their existence....

Balanced Witcher Traits

Mistrust: People tend to be suspicious of Witchers, the town watch might follow them around for a while, and they may attract unwanted attention

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice increase by 1.

Witchers come from all kinds of races and especialize in many things, but all of them must have quick thinking and some reflexes to be able to respond to inmediate threats 

Age

Can live for hundreds of years(at least 500)  without looking that much older, althought old age still affects you.

Witchers mature at a similar rate that humans do, but seem to age at a similar pace that elfs do, althought their youthful appearance is more easily kept, this conbined with the fact that no witcher has ever die of old age, has spreaded the belief that they are inmortal.

Superior Darkvision

Your eyes have unnatural properties to them, thanks to the unnatural mutation that you have gone throught, allowing for superior dark vision.

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
At 4th level you will be able to see normally, not just in shades of gray.
At 7th level your darkvision will have a range of 120 feet

Witcher Versatility

All Witchers are profient in alchemy, wether they learned form their makers or helpers or they learned to make the process themselfes. Adinionally they have travelled across the land, picking up useful training for their future.

You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice.

You are proficient with alchemy tools.

Unwavering Determination

Expending years of  training and doing rituals in exchange for the posibility of certain doom is a road that only the brave or the foolish are willing to tread, in adition, most candidates have faced unspeakable terrors before turning into a witcher, making them capable of not even flinching in the face of the most horrible of creatures.

You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

Languages

Thanks to travel, study or knowledge before turning into one, Witchers have small knowledge of the languages that are spoken in the world, or others...

You can speak, read, and write Common, and one extra language of your choice.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet
