Homebrew Dragon Witch Species Details

Dragon Witch Cycle

Dragon Witch are born from the death of a dragon and taking a humanoid form. They’re mostly Only Female, but A Human Male can become a Male Dragon Witch after drinking Dragon Witch’s Blood, but this rarely happened since Dragon Witches despises Human and will attack them on sight. Living as a Dragon Witch is a Tragedy, You’re Born upon a Dragon’s Death, then Devouring Dragon to keep the Dragon Inside in check, failing to keep it in check and turn into a feral dragon and killing the one you loved, being devoured or killed by other witches, and reborn to start the cycle a new.

Dragon Witch’s Appearance

Dragon Witches appearance wise, they looked like human, but with some notable traits: The Pupil in their Left Eye are a different shape than the Right Eye, They Have a Witch Mark somewhere on their body as a Sign of being a Dragon Witch, Their hairs have 1 dominant color and 1 or more less dominant color, and some of them have a small wing on their back which they can’t use. Dragon Witch also a Disguised Form that they use when about to pass through Human’s territory, where this disguised form looks exactly like Human. Their Awakened Form’s looks is drastically less human than before, their wings are very visible, they also have One or Two Dragon Horns, their hair color becomes very wild, their eyes glows, and their clothes also changes.

Dragon Witch’s Community

Dragon witch lived in groups, taking care of the young Witch and Hunt for Dragons to feed the entire coven. They lived in a place called a “Witch Den” an isolated area far away from Human Civilizations, usually located in a forest, swamp, and mountains. They study magic to aid them in their hunt, they know many knowledge, and even brew potions with some dragon part they’ve collected during the hunt. There’s only around 255 Dragon Witch Total that Exist in the worlds.

The Witching Hours

Almost Dragon Witches are the most active around Midnight to Dawn. They usually sleep at around 7pm to 8pm & wake up 4 hours later for their Witching Hours. During the witching hours, Dragon witches uses this time for doing ritual prayers, brewing potions, crafting magical trinkets, and many other chill and relaxing activities. The Witching Hours is the only time of the day where the Witches are Having Fun doing their Witch Activities. This is maybe due to the Moonlight around this time is where witch’s power is at it’s peak.

• All Dragon-Like Races  (“Dragon is Dragon, They’re all Food for us so we don’t become one.”)
• Gnome (“They’re a great ally to have, their small inventions is very interesting and helpful.”)
• Aasimars & Celestial-like races (“For the last time! Witchcraft is Not Heresy! It’s our way of life!”)
• Tiefling & other Demonic/Fiendish Races (“They’re Ok, they’re just Ok.“)
• All Fey-like Races (“Well, they’re one of the most favorited familiar to summon for us. But if they’re not a familiar, they’re a great friend.”)

Witches Name

Dragon Witches have many name that are commonly used for Human, but they never have a last name, and instead they have a title name that are usually are a good enough description about them. Example of Witches Name:

• The Black Ice Witch, Tiala
• ect

Dragon Witch Traits

As a Dragon Witch, you’re very skilled for hunting dragons, Devour them and Channel the Power of the Dragon. You also have a few utilities.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution Score increased by 2, and two Ability score of your choice increases by 1

Age

Dragon Witch matures at the age of 7, and live for all eternity. You’re technically immortal, but you can still die by being killed and then reborn at the age of 7.

Alignment

Dragon Witch can be any alignment, except for the Lawful Alignment.

Size

As a Dragon Witch, your size varies depending on your age

Your size is Small if you’re age is Bellow 15

Your Size is Medium if your age is 15 or Older

Speed

Your Base Walking speed is 30 feet. And By Riding on a Broomstick (or any other item, by consoling it with your DM) you also have 50 feet Flying speed for 1 Minutes.

Darkvision

You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 45 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can still discern color in darkness, but the color you see in the darkness is slightly grey.

Witchcraft Hobby

While not hunting for Dragons, Dragon Witch usually have some hobbies that they do.

You gain proficiency with 2 Artisan Tools and or Musical Instrument of your choice.

Bewitching Resilience

As a Dragon Witch, you have Natural Resistance to Acid & Poison, and Immunity from Being Poisoned. You only need 4 Hours for a Long Rest.

The Dragon Within

Inside all Dragon Witch, there’s a Dragon Within them. This dragon will be the witches’s death if not kept in check. Dragon Witch must Eat Dragon meat to relive stress and keeping the dragon inside in check, but eating too much dragon meat will make the Dragon within more likely to burst out of the Dragon Witch’s Stomach. But if a Dragon Witch doesn’t eat Dragon Meat for a Long Time, then they’ll get stressed and becomes a Feral Dragon. Either way, a Dragon Witch must have a Balance amount of Dragon Meat to keep The Dragon within in Checked. You can choose 1 of the following dragons that were the Dragon Within:

Devour

As a Dragon Witch, devouring Dragon is an important thing to do. Your Left Hand can turn into a gaping maw of a Dragon. As an action, you can Attempt to devour a creature by making an Attack (this uses your Constitution modifier and You have Proficiency with this), Dealing 2d10 Magical Piercing Damage on a Hit, and you regain hit point equal to the damage Dealt, this also ignores the creature’s Resistance. If the Creature drops to 0 Hit Point from this Attack, the creature is devoured and you regain 1 Uses of Your Draconic Burst feature. If the Creature is a Dragon, this Attack Ignores Resistance and Immunity and Auto Crits on a Hit.

Adept Dragon Hunter

You’re used to Hunting Dragons, so you pretty much know how to hunt down Dragons

You Have Favored Enemy for Dragons and advantage on all roll against Dragon Creatures

Reverse Re:Birth

Dragon Witch suffers the Eternal Cycle of Life and Death, there’s no way of breaking this Cycle. Upon Death, you’re resurrected in the Witch Spring at the Feywild, your body and age reverts back to being 7 years old again. You can return to the material plane if it’s Midnight or Dawn in the Material Plane.

Awakened State

Dragon Witch can channel the power of the dragon within, the power will reveals a Dragon Witch’s True Power. As a Bonus Action, you can enter the Awakened State which last for 1 Minutes where you: Gain +2 Bonus to your Devour Attack and Damage Roll, Gain 2d6 Temporary Hit Point, and Gain Access to a Powerful version of Devour called Dragon Unleashed. Dragon Unleashed does the same thing as Devour but deals 5d6 Magical Damage and Have 120 feet range, but if you use it you’ll automatically exited the Awakened State.

The damage type and name for the Dragon Unleashed varies on what dragon is within:

You can enter the Awakened State a certain amount of time, equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You regain all uses of Awakened State upon a Long Rest. You also regain 1 Uses of Awakened State when you eat a Dragon Meat.

Witchcraft Initiate

As a Dragon Witch, you have a few spells that you know already. You know how to cast Prestidigitation, Thaumaturgy, Druidcraft without using Verbal and Somatic Component. You can Also cast Disguise Self and Find Familiar without Expending any Spell Slots and Ignore the Verbal, Somatic, and Material Components. The Spell doesn’t count as spell known. Your Spell Save DC for these spells is 15.
