Homebrew Divine Vessel (DiVe) Species Details

These shells are made with the essence of the deity in question, and can be changed in various degrees to the deity's liking. For example, say a Death God died and went into their DiVe, or Divine Vessel. The god in question could change the appearance, size and the amount of limbs the Vessel has.

However, there are limitations to these Vessels. If one thinks of a Vessel as a copy, then a Vessel created by that Vessel would be a copy of a copy. The copies would become clumsy and unable to function if it continued as such.

Despite their flaws, these shells have benefits. For starters, the deity's memories and skills are backed-up into the Vessel, so when the time comes, it'll basically be a respawn point. Second, the deity's ability to eat, drink and sleep are not taken away, but they don't need to do these things thanks to how the Vessel's internal organs work.

Divine Vessel (DiVe) Traits

Dive Back In!

Perfect Memory Replication

As the name suggests, all memories, skills, powers, etc. are loaded into the Vessel's mind, allowing for an easy start-up.

Mortal Engine

Unless the Vessel in question is made completely mechanical, the DiVe has several means of gaining and retaining energy, such as eating, drinking, sleeping, photosynthesis and many more. In the case of mechanical DiVes, the energy must be gained through means of generating power, such a solar, hydroelectric, thermal/geothermal, battery-power, etc.

Adaptoid

DiVes have the ability to adapt to their current environment, such as oceans, underground, in the sky or even space.

One of the reasons for this is Ventilating Lungs, which gives DiVes the ability to not need to breathe, making traversal across the lands, seas and skies much easier. These shells also have flight capabilities, retractable claws for climbing and digging, retractable fins for swimming, an internal compass for finding their way, camouflage for hiding from enemies, and their bodies have thermal-adaptive skin, which can make them grow thick fur for cold weather or loose said fur in hot climates.

DiVes also have Blindsight and Tremorsense when underground, Darkvision, and True Sight when looking for worshippers or races created by the deity that inhabits the DiVe.
