Homebrew Wasp-Kreen Species Details

Wasp-Kreen have insectile features and two pairs of arms. Their bodies are encased in a protective chitin. They can fly for short distances and make a devastating attack with their stinger.

Carapace

While you aren’t wearing armor, your carapace gives you a base Armor Class of 13 + your Dexterity modifier.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Hamulate Wings

You have 2 large primary wings coupled to 2 smaller secondary wings. You can use these wings to fly and hover for up to 1 minute. Your fly speed is equal to your walking speed.

Secondary Arms

You have two slightly smaller secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms function like your primary arms, with the following exceptions:

  • You can use a secondary arm to wield a weapon that has the light property, but you can’t use a secondary arm to wield other kinds of weapons.
  • You can’t wield a shield with a secondary arm

Stinger

You have a stinger at the end of your abdomen, which you can use to sting foes within 5 feet as an unarmed strike. On a hit, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Dexterity modifier. When you hit with a sting, the target must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target falls prone and is paralyzed until the end of your next turn. Once you have stung a target, you cannot do so again until you have completed a short or long rest.

Your stinger's damage increases by (1d4) when you reach 5th level (2d4), 11th level (3d4), and 17th level (4d4).
