Homebrew Woodwose Species Details
Tiny plant-like people who resembles turnips and potatoes with an affinity for magical and social influence. The Woodwose are alluring or curious to the lowlanders but to the locals of Highfane they are a mundane sight.
Rootfolk of Highfane
Small, peculiar folk no more than 3 feet tall, these plant people are born in the soil and then emerge out into Highfane yearning to explore. "Turnip Head" is a common slur, though most Woodwose care little of what other people call them. Wether the Woodwose are fey or a more mundane bloodline, all agree that they are a magical, timeless people. Often as wide as they are tall, Woodwose can collapse into a dense clot, rolling and bouncing along mountains and tunnels with ease. They have no need to eat, but instead bury themselves in fertile volcanic soil as a means of combined sleep and sustenance.
The Woodwose Wanderlust
A Woodwose is not born, but awoken and when a Woodwose emerges from the soil for the first time they awaken with an incredible wanderlust and yearn for exploration. Because of this, the few Woodwose villages that exists consists mostly of older Woodwose who have sated their wanderlust and now wishes to help their wandering kin.
Woodwose Names
The Woodwose has no concept of gender and therefore simply choses a name, usually the name of a vegetable which they resemble most, and possibly a nickname. A Woodwose may change their name many times during their lives before they finally settle on one which they like

Age
A Woodwose reaches adulthood the moment it emerges from the soil and due to their timeless nature can not die of old age, instead they grow more coarse and covered in nettle root.
Alignment
Most Woodwose are neutral good. As a rule, they are good-hearted and kind, hate to see others in pain, and have no tolerance for oppression.
Size
Halflings average about 3 feet tall and weigh about 40 pounds. Your size is Small.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Tuck and Roll
You tuck into an oblong orb like a potato or turnip as an action. You.then ignore nonmagical difficult terrain and advantage on stealth, you can end this state as an action. You can not perform any other action while in this state but you are able to hear.
Brave
You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
Plant Life
You don't need to eat but you instead need to bury yourself in fertile soil. You can turn any corpse, chunk of wood or other organic material into fertile soil. The target of this feature needs to be within 5ft of you.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.
