Physical Description

The canine genus are beings that appear like anthropomorphic dogs. They are unnaturally muscular and have the face of pit bulls. Their knuckles show their modified metal carpals and metacarpals. The shape of their body primarily is humanoid, with the bent legs of a dog. Like a dog, they have claws and a coat of fur. This coat is thin and usually riddled with scars of battle. The color of this fur can be a variety of colors, from white to dark grey.
History

Unlike natural dogfolk, the canine genus is the result of experimentation. Their breed was initially one that was disreputable, known for a foul temper and vicious spirit. Experiments to make them war machines gave them a human form. They would often be forced to compete in sports of blood for the entertainment of others, like bare-fisted fists and other depraved sport. After these projects were made public, the canine genus were released after quarantine. They were a race capable of breeding on their own, with a tortured past and bad temperament, entering the world.
Society

Canine genus unfortunately have been bred with battle in their genes. They are predisposed to be violent and short-tempered. They move in caravans around the world as nomads who primarily trade their skill as mercenaries and trophy fighters. They do not have a home which to call their own. They are known by others for their willingness to fight and shed blood for coin. Despite this, they can be fiercely loyal to their own and any who show themselves to be true allies.
Canine Genus Names

The names of color and the description of themselves or a trait they have them stick out from the rest. Males take more pride in their kills and their ways of killing things, usually naming themselves after it. Some even might name themselves after the weapons they use or how they are being used. Females take more pride on their own beauty and form often naming them self after a characteristic or the best quality about themselves that sets them out from other females. Blue eyes, Silkfur or Long Tounge can be a few. There are also those who names them self after what they can be seen commonly done. that goes for both sexes. For example "Moon howler" "Hunter" and "Watcher" can be used. In short names for the Canine Genus folk are often short and easy to remember BUT many also take on two names to separate them even more. Some take on human-like names as they engage with them more than the rest of their race(s)
Male: Males prefer to name themselves after their way of inflicting wounds on the enemies of their pack. Common names are names like: Bloodfang, Quickclaw, Sharptooth are but a few.
Female: Females prefer to name themselves after their looks and their fur and fur color. Common names like: Silverfur, Blacktail, Greypaws are but a few.

You are familiar with forests and grasslands, being adept at traveling and surviving in them. When you make an Intelligence (History) or Wisdom (Survival) check related to forest and grassland environment, you are considered proficient in the skill and you may double your proficiency bonus for the check. Additionally, you cannot become lost except by magical means.

Canine Linguist.

Being a canine genus allows you to communicate to other canine species and you understand their speech completely.

Ability Score Increase.

You add 2 to each ability score.

Age.

Canine Genus generally reach adulthood around the age of 20. They live to around the age of 100, maturing heavily and graying in the last twenty years.

Alignment.

Canine Genus aren't bound to any specific alignment, but they do tend to lean more towards chaotic alignments due to their wild natures.

Size.

Canine Genus are generally the same size and weight as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed.

Your base walking speed is 35 feet.

Darkvision.

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Colorblind.

Due to your canine nature, you can’t discern color, only shades of gray.

Iron Knuckles.

Your metal-geared fists are natural weapons, which you can make unarmed strikes with. If you hit with them, you deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d8 + your Strength modifier.

Keen Hearing and Smell.

You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Veteran.

You are no stranger to battle and it's throes. You are proficient in the Athletics and Medicine skills.

Telepathy.

You can communicate telepathically to any creature you can see as long as you are not incapacitated.

Human Society.

Due to your upbringing you were taught how to work for a living. You are proficient with a tool of your choice.

As a Pack.

Whenever an allied creature makes a successful attack against a creature and you are within 5 feet of the target, you can, as a reaction make an attack of opportunity against that target.

Excellent Snarl.

You are proficient in the Intimidation skill.

Bite.

Melee Weapon Attack.  reach Melee., one target. Hit. 1d8 piercing damage.

Bark.

The canine genus uses a bonus action to have a creature within 15 of it make a DC Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the end of the canine genus’s next turn. The targeted creature(s) must be capable of hearing in order for this condition to take effect. Creatures affected by the Unwavering Loyalty trait automatically succeed this saving throw.

Trip.

A canine genus that hits with a bite attack can attempt to trip the opponent (DC strength check) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the canine genus.

Natural Armor.

You have a natural armor composed from your thickened skin and fur. In this form you have an AC of 14 + your Dexterity modifier.

Bestial Nature.

Your creature type is considered to be both beast and humanoid.

Languages.

You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.
