Homebrew Woodborm Species Details

The people of the woodborn are that of a special beginning. The woodborn were not born naturally but created through extraordinary happenstance. The forests where the Elves reside are filled with magic, both dark and light. Woodborn are the result of a reckless Dark Elf, the spell cast to take the victims life is not manifested correctly and causes the victim to form into a hardly visible seed that falls to the ground. The seed, if not destroyed, then roots itself and starts to grow. After about 60 years there will be a large tree formed there, and around this time the trees side will splinter outward and out falls a wood skinned form resembling that of the creature that came before.

The newly formed creature retains one of the racial traits or abilities of the creature passed. This is to be moderated by your DM.

The visual of the woodborn is unique, they have skin of wood. The skin can range from smooth to jagged and rough.
