Homebrew Akhri Species Details
In life, you were special. You were extremely emotional, determined, and unusually powerful. So some way you died caused you to be extremely emotional with it. So emotional, that you were brought back to life. With a tradeoff, however. You show very few signs of your life before rising from the dead. Along with this regrettable tradeoff, you appear as a changing area of smoke. Now, you roam the world, seeking revenge, redemption, or whatever will finally bring you peace and let your soul back to rest.
Akhri Traits
Rising from the dead has its benefits. You have gained some abilities that some would call unusual, peculiar, even unnatural.Ghastly Appearance
Combining the facts that you can be seen through, your intimidating glowing eyes, and your smoky appearance; any sane creature would be extremely unsettled in your presence. This also means that any creature is very distracted when very close to you.
Any creature within 5 feet of you has disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception and Insight) checks.
Loss of Shape
As you spend more time in this rather unstable form, the universe attempts to undo your existence, tearing you apart. You can learn to harness this however, losing focus on your self and allowing you to lose shape in the process.
As a result, at level 5, you can cast Gaseous Form on yourself without expending a spell slot. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest. Once you reach level 9, you don't have to wait between long rests to cast it again.
Ability Score Increase and Debuffs
Your current form is extremely unstable, so when a creature hits you, it weakens you further than it would in your original form. You get a -1 debuff to Constitution. With instability, however, comes swiftness. As you can push yourself farther than your average human. You get a +2 bonus to Dexterity.
