Homebrew Aaraku Species Details
Standing Out
The Aaraku have very distinguishable feathers, mostly in shades of muted yellow, brown, grey, or white, with some more colorful Aaraku in the tropical regions of the planet. But each and every Aaraku, no matter their coloring, always has patches of black feathers on their bodies, and those patches only grow larger as they age. Each Aaraku has the Kenku's intelligent black eyes and an ebony black beak. These traits might make it easy for a young Aaraku to hide among humans, but the older it gets, the harder it is.
By Talon and Beak
Aaraku, despite their scattered numbers, share one flaw; an undying loyalty to their flock. Aaraku will often bond with an adventurer in their party or a friend, and will do what it takes to ensure that person's safety. They may also hold grudges for years and years, sometimes ignoring the unlucky person's explanations and apologies.
Gathering
Once every five years, the sun is blacked out by small, avian shapes. In each town, civilians and heroes alike will lift their heads to catch a glimpse of the Aaraku soaring over their lands, occasionally joined by others from their own towns and flocks. This gathering is an annual thing, a time for the Aaraku to rejoin with their families and meet with old friends, as well as mourn the losses of the years gone by. Aaraku are known to be exchanged in theses gatherings, to live with other family and keep the population growing.
Flocks
The Aaraku, because they are so split apart, will often travel to great lengths to find more of their kind, and set up a town or village known as a 'nest'. Theses nests state claim to the surrounding area, up to twenty miles. These nests will take in other humanoids, and travel in groups to their gatherings to meet with other flocks.

The Aaraku have something most races don't; the will to fight and kill for the youngest or oldest member of their flock. This has given them a reputation as bloodthirsty, heartless killers, as they might attack for little reason.Ability Score Increase
