Homebrew Dareog Species Details

Mountain Marrow

Bred of the stout mountain dwarves and the fierce orcs of the Windcrest Mountains, dareogs are incredibly strong and hard to kill, making them ferocious warriors. Standing between 4 and 7 feet tall, they are almost ubiquitously stalky and weigh between 180 and 350 pounds. Their grayish-green pigmentation, large brows, and overgrown teeth create a fearsome visage, which lends itself to their warrior culture. Dareog society values strength and prowess in battle, pushing young warriors to seek glory by slaying monsters or competing in the fighting pits. Some dareogs who have been bested in the arena turn to the arcane or natural arts becoming warlock shamans or druids, often serving as advisors to warlord leaders.

Social Pariahs

The pressure to prove themselves in battle pushes some dareogs to venture into human territory and raid small villages and towns and bring back prisoners for sport or slaves. This has given them a bit of a reputation as a race and they are often not accepted among humans, regardless of their intentions.

Dareog Names

Dareogs will often choose their own names upon reaching maturity since there is no formal naming system, and an epithet is not uncommon in order to tell of their accomplishments.
