Homebrew Awakened Undead Species Details
Reanimated, cursed, diseased, whatever the case may be, you are no longer considered "alive" by typical standards. Your zombified state is unique in that you still harbour the essence of your soul, granting you full usage of your powerful form, as this affliction is not limited to Humans, your physical race is custom, work with your dm to decide what features are appropriate if any to carry over to your new "race".
Death Is Not The End
With your unique status as an undead, you can not be ressurected by regular means, if you are, you could end up reverting to your original race. If you are resurrected by necromantic means, you will be brought back as if by normal means. Healing spells DO work on you, as you are still considered humanoid.
Cursed Blood
You are resistant to Necrotic and Poison damage.
Sleep When You're Dead
You no longer need to sleep (but can choose to), instead, just spend 6-8 hours doing minimal activity and your wounds will recover. Superficial damage such as scars or your death blow (how/where you were initially killed) remain however.
Certain Death
If your soul is destroyed, your body incinerated, or your head removed you can not be revived unless the damage has been restored, though some damage may be impossible to repair without the usage of a wish or true resurrection spell (See Death Is Not The End for more information regarding the use of such spells.)
Devour
Using your action, you can begin to devour a fresh corpse for magical sustenance, doing so grants you temporary hit points equal to your CON+PB+Your Level and grants you advantage on strength ability checks for one minute or until your temporary hit points are removed or you are rendered unconscious.
Your race is considered to be a Custom Lineage for any game feature that requires a certain race, such as elf or dwarf.
