Homebrew Aculian Species Details

Insectoid Decent

Aculian's most defining features are the clear wings on their back's the yellow and black armored strips on some patches of their body,  and their 4 small mandibles. and even though it is not visible all of the time, the retractable stingers that emerge out of each wrist are the most jaw-dropping trait 

Underground tribes

Aculian's tend to operate in tight-knit hunting party's, these tribes are usually 40-200  people and they construct large underground villages out of a variant type of venom that they can release from their stingers that mixes with loose dirt and rock, giving it the texture of concrete before hardening into stone once again. a 5x5 room in these hives typically takes a full 3 days of work, 5 days if the hive is a permanent dwelling space due to the detailed carvings that the aculian's are typically fond of.

when another creature attempts to enter these hives, while not immediately attacked. most of the time they are told very sharply to leave (unless the creature has permission to be there or an invited merchant). after a creature finds the nest, the aculian's will seal the door and make a new one elsewhere.

Careful Stalkers

 Aculian's are patient and paranoid. when they enter any civilization other than the ones they trust, they will attempt to be unseen as much as possible, even to the extent of hiding from the guards, this is a double-edged sword though because the guards will often think they are criminals hiding from the law, and attempt to chase them. while usually unsuccessful due to their flight, nimbleness, stealth, and stinger.  most who see an aculian become uneasy

the names of aculians are not in any way gender-specific, and not too complicated either, the extent of the naming process is: what is a reasonably long sound I can scream to alert you? some typical names are: 

Qhuk, Gaor, Trankokt, Guophrax, Sazur, Drenkel, and Gurgongask

Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Dexterity score increases by 1.

Aculian mature at age 8 and live until 65 on average

Size

Aculians are about a foot taller than humans and built stockier. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet. you can fly with a speed of 15 feet, and burrow with a speed of 1 foot, however, the space you dug out will collapse at the start of your next turn. unless you spend 3 hours per 1x1x1 area to use a variant venom to solidify the rock and make it permanently be stable, the structure you make must be underground

Darkvision

due to your insectoid heritage, you have vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Insectoid nature

You have resistance to poison damage.

Venomous stinger

whenever you make an unarmed strike, instead of base damage you deal 1 pricing damage and your proficiency bonus d4 poison damage (for example you have a proficiency bonus 3 than you do 3d4 poison damage)

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and you can click your mandibles to communicate with other Aculian's.
