Homebrew Yuan-Ti Abomination Species Details

Yuan-ti abominations are completely snake except for a vaguely humanlike torso and arms that can wield weapons and use tools. Abominations closely resemble the perfect form that the serpent gods envisioned. Yuan-ti abominations are almost always the leaders in most yuan-ti cities unless a yuan-ti anathema is present, and formed the highest caste in the yuan-ti society.

Your size is Medium, although you tower over most of the other humanoids.

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Abyssal, and Draconic.

Yuan-Ti Abomination Traits

Yuan-ti Abominations, known as Abominations for short, have the following traits:

Darkvision

Your serpent eyes allow you to see better than most humans. You have a Darkvision of 60 Feet. Dim light looks like bright light, and darkness looks like dim light. Due to your advanced evolution on your path to serpent godhood, you can see colors in darkness.

Innate Spellcasting

You have been learning dark snake magic to enhance your form further. You know speak with animals and can use it an unlimited number of times with this trait, but you can target only snakes with it. Starting at 3rd level you can cast the enthrall spell as a bonus action when you're playing a flute, after casting it, you can't do so again until you finish a short rest . When you reach 5th level, you can cast polymorph but only into a large constrictor snake or back to your true form. You cannot cast any spells as the giant snake and once you cast it, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Magic Resistance

Your ritual evolution has gotten you used to being experimented on by dark magic. You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Venom Fangs

You have evolved snake fangs in place of human teeth. Your fangs are natural melee weapons, with which you’re proficient. If you hit with your fangs, the target takes poison damage equal to 2d4 + your Strength modifier.

Constrictor Coil

Your snake-like body allows you to coil around your enemies and squeeze them. If you choose to grapple an enemy, you instead coil around them and squeeze them tight, making it hard for your enemy to breath. While coiling your enemy, they take 1d6 force damage per turn in initiative.

Hybrid Nature

Your Abomination body makes you both humanoid and a freak of nature. You have two creature types: humanoid and monstrosity. You can be affected by a game effect if it works on either of your creature types.

Tainted Blood

Your tainted blood resists all sorts of poisons and venoms. You are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Forked Tongue

You have been around snakes for so long, you have made a connection with them. You can speak with snakes and serpent-like creatures as if you shared a language. You can share simple ideas and concepts with them, and they can share things that they've seen recently with you.
