In they high mountains dwell the Buddha a race of multi-armed humanoids. They live in temples that they build to worship their god. The find peace in themselves and rarely go to war but if they have to they can unleash a great power. They live fairly long compared to other races reaching maturity at about 30 years old and dying at about 1500 years old. They are a strong ancient people that aren't known of to the common people.

The Buddhas are a very solitary people that don't like meeting knew races and don't like people knowing of them. Some Buddhas leave the temple and go on great adventures to assist higher beings. The Buddhas are the most connected race to the gods and some can even talk to the gods at will. An individual can stand from 5 feet to a little over 6 feet tall and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds. Buddhas don't really mix with other people and most of them rarely have non Buddha blood. Buddhas reach adulthood in their 30s and live to well over 1000 years.

Lasting Institutions

Where a single elf or dwarf might take on the responsibility of guarding a special location or a powerful secret, Buddhas found sacred orders and institutions for such purposes. While dwarf clans and halfling elders pass on the ancient traditions to each new generation, Buddhas temples, governments, libraries, and codes of law fix their traditions in the bedrock of history. Buddhas accept death with grace and honor and they accept moving on to a higher plane.

All Buddhas are xenophobic and there are very few who enjoy meeting new people.

Exemplars of Ambition

The few Buddhas who go out on adventures do it alone but in very rare cases they will join a group and go on adventures with others most often serving under gods who need them.
