Homebrew Blattian Species Details

In places once thought dead or lost, in acrid hellholes and the fetid corpses of worlds, the Blattian thrive. Built to withstand the harshest environments and smart enough to make it there home, the Blattian revel in the challenges of making something anew. Not much is known about where they come from or how they find their way to these places left to rot and decay, but may have turned their backs on what they thought was lost, only for the Blattian to make it flourish once again.

Blattian Traits

The hardy Blattian have a range of adaptations to the harsh environments they call home.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Intelligence score increases by 1.

Age

Blattian mature very quickly, reaching adulthood at the age of 10, often living to the ripe old age of 350. 

Size

Blattian are diminutive folk, standing between 3 and 4 feet tall. They are light even for their size, generally weighing between 30 to 40 lbs.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet and you have a flying speed of 30 feet. Your flight is noisy, giving you disadvantage on any Dexterity (Stealth) checks made while in flight. You cannot use your flying speed while wearing medium or heavy armour.

Salvager

You have proficiency in an Artisan's Tool of your choice. You have advantage on checks made to repair items related to your tool of choice.

Superior Darkvision

Your darkvision has a range of 120 feet.

Advanced Grappler

Your extra limbs allow you to expertly grapple targets or escape them. You have advantage on all grapple checks and checks to escape a grapple.

Adaptation

Blattian are well accustomed to acrid air and polluted skies. You can breathe normally in any environment, and you have advantage on saving throws made against harmful gases and vapors.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one exotic language of your choice.
