Homebrew Demon Species Details
Born in the Demon Realm, Demon's are rarely born. They have high aptitude for magic and mischief, often live lives that become stories of legends, as they can live to be as old as dust. Each one has a personality none like another, and they all live for some sort of adventure. If you ever come across one either kill it and pray that their family never hears of it, or become their friends and become a part of the legends that they will make.
Demon Traits
As a demon you will recieve the following traits:Shadow Stealth
While in dim light or darkness, the demon can take the Hide action as a bonus action.
Ability Score Increase
Your Strength or Dexterity scores increase by 2. Intelligence increases by 2.
Demonic Ancestry
No pain receptors, resistance to poisons, fire and necrotic damage. At level 5 your full demonic ancestry will protect you and you gain immunity to poisons, fire damage and necrotic damage.
Languages
You can read, write and speak Common and Abyssal.
Demonic Sight
Starting out your Darkvision is perfect up to a 120 ft and fading into 240 feet. At level 3 you gain Truesight (120 ft) as your senses sharpen and the world around you melts into only the reality in which it presents itself.
The Demon Kings Gift
The Demon King bestows a gift to all Demons born. If strength falls short they shall have it boosted (+1 to strength modifier) and if the lack the speed exists it so shall be boosted (+1 to dexterity modifier).
Demon Grimoire
Starting out you can change your appearance to mimic any species (as an illusion). Can be seen through by Truesight or similar spells. Can change any visual characteristic but will not change it physically (height, muscles, horns). At level 3 you can effect others and change the visual aspects about them at a visual range of up to 30 feet. At level 5 you begin to gain more control and can polymorph physical characteristics of yourself. At level 10 your polymorph abilities have grown and you can effect others that you touch, effects last 1 hour. At level 12 you have full control of you Demon Grimoire and can polymorph others in a visual range of up to 30 feet. With a close connection to the dark abyssal region your overworld magic is extremely limited and all magic will be of a dark nature. The Demon Grimoire can also act as a storage for other spells gained.
