Homebrew Cambion Species Details

Cambions are the offspring of a fiend, typically a succubus or incubus, and a humanoid, typically a human. They are best identified by their inherited aspects, getting them from both parents. Notably having horns and sinewy tails, the Cambions are seen for vile demons in most communities. However, this isn't always the case, and there have been genuinely good-hearted Cambions, for example, Thozzoth the Noble, a renowned fiend hunter and ladies man.

Heartless Demons?

Cambions have an inhuman skin colour, ranging from red to green to even charcoal-black, coming from their demon parent, but their stance, height, weight, etc. is all dependent on their humanoid parent. They are typically noted to have short horns and long sinewy tails. Cambions with wings also exist, but these are typically raised by their fiend parents. Their eye colour is typically yellow, but can vary wildly.

They typically dress for practicality over style, but will don clothes they find beautiful depending on the social situation. Cambion clothing makers typically accommodate for the tails and horns, accentuating them with mystique, but also a friendly feeling.

Free Spirits

Many Cambions live quite long, typically meeting their end by the blade instead of old age. Their fiendish spirit drives them to seek adventure, charm people and attain as much power as they can. But this is tempered by their humanoid spirit, driving them to compassion and helping the less fortunate. Cambions mostly adapt to the customs of the circumstances that they were raised in, but also adopting a more rebellious attitude during puberty. They can typically be seen on the battlefield as commanders, using their charm and charismatic predisposition to boost their troops morale.

A Cambion who serves their fiendish parents, however, is a different story. They do so out of lust for power or fear of punishment. They typically take the role of soldiers, envoys and attendants to devils. They wish for power, and in the Abyss they shall stop at nothing to get it.

Names

Cambions typically have names that come from their humanoid parent, but may also choose their own Infernal name, if they choose to do so. Common names for Cambions include: Zarroz, Ergoth, Gozrerath and Targran.

Should they fail this save, they become charmed for 1 day, and will obey your commands as long as it doesn't involve them being harmed. If they are harmed by the Cambion, or if you give them a command that would result in harm, they may reroll the saving throw.
