Earnest Dreamers

Brain Eaters were humanoid creatures who've always dreamt of becoming a human. Whatever they needed to do they would do it. They would always experiment to find ways to become a human, wether that'd be using different magic on themselves, concocting multiple medicines, and even cutting different body parts and attaching it on themselves. But, Alas their dreams could never come to fruition, for changing their race is something no one in the mortal plane have ever succeeded on before. Despite that Brain Eaters would never stop finding ways to become a human, whatever they need to do, they will do it just to become human.

Mythical Beings

No one has ever seen what the creatures known as Brain Eaters looks like behind the outfit that's covering their whole body. Some says they look somewhat humanoid in appearance, but of course that's not all. It is said that they look like humans who've been affected with some sort of disease that causes big pulsating rashes to become big bubbles that could and would pop on their completely burnt flesh, not only that it is also said that their eyes are not symmetrical with one hugely bigger that the other and can drop off at anytime. In short they look like humans who've been through the plague and been burned completely. In fact that is the myth surrounding them. It is told that they are humans who've survive the plague and was mistook for a corpse that was later burned alongside many corpses, but even after that they came back alive looking for revenge to those who've burned them.

What is also noted is their pungent stench that is said to be so bad, it will turn anyone who've got even the tiniest whiff of it into mindless beast. That is rumored to have came from the corpses that they were burnt with, the smell clinged into their skin, no, their flesh and no matter what would never be removed. Because of that, it is said that they would skin whomever they came across, for them to wear it to cover their hideous appearance. They also like skinning people alive, for a dead one would rot much faster and would be unusable, or more correctly, it would be unwearable.

 

Betrayers of Myths and Rumours?

 

As just like many other rumours, the rumours about them are also very much exaggerated. But in every lie there is a piece of truth within.

 

 

Great Personality?

It might come as a surprise to many people,but, to those who've met them before know one thing about Brain Eaters. Despite there horrifying sounding name, is that they are actually very very good people. Granted they can be very eccentric and would move as if they're performing in a comedy. They are very still very, very kind. They will help anyone who needs their help and will never turn a blind eye to anyone. They are also incarnation of love, they love people and are very very into socializing and forming new friends, they are also very loyal to their friends, and would never betray them.

Strong Scent of Medicine?

Though their scent will not turn anyone into a mindless beast, it is still noticably strong. They carry a very, very strong scent of medicines. Particularly, that of the most bitter herbs. In fact its so strong that even if you combine all of the most strongest and bitterest herbs in the whole world, it would still not be enough be able to be compared to them.

 

Appearance out of Nightmares

Their choice of clothing also doesn't help in bettering their reputation. They always wear a wide brimmed hat, mask that covers their whole head resembling that of a bird, a very long coat, thick leather gloves, cape, pants, boots, and not to mention all of them are in black and no skin at all could be seen at all.

Personality

The main reason for their personality is also related to their origins. They wish to become human, but couldn't. So instead they chose to love all that are humanoids instead. But their dreams of becoming human will always be with them. So, whenever a Brain Eater sees a human that they think never contribute and will only bring badness and trouble to others, they will not have second thoughts of killing them, if they are with other people or friends they would typically ask for permissions first. Then they would skin the person alive and they would wear their skins, and they would proudly and comically declare themselves as humans. Wearing a human skin is one of the things that brings them complete joy, for they feel as if their becoming closer to being human.

Appearance

Under their thick full body covered clothing, Brain Eaters looks like creatures straight out of nightmares. Much like their rumours, Brain eaters have flesh with black pulsating bubbles that could and would pop at any moment, one of their eyes looks like it's bigger than the other and would randomly spin around or dart around indicating that it is not connected to any nerves at all, their mouth have very few teeth and have a tongue that could reach their jaws outside of their mouth, only two holes make up for their nose, the same could be said for their ears, and they possess little to no hair at all. But the most bothering thing of all is what's attached to their flesh, attached to their flesh is the skin of the latest human they have killed and skinned, sometimes even killed by skinning. Badly keeping the skins attached to their flesh are thin wires that they tie on themselves to prevent the skins from falling out of their body.

Smell

The reason Brain Eaters Smell the way they do, is because of the medicines they put on their body, or particularly the skins they are wearing. They do this to prevent the skins from rotting, and also to hide their own smell from others.

HIDEOUS NIGHTMARE

All that creatures that see a Brain Eater on their true/unclothed form has to make a Wisdom saving throw, and it must be above 10 to succeed.

If the creature succeed, then they will only be slightly grossed out by the Brain Eater's appearance.

If the Creature failed, role a d20 to determine the creatures action:

Even numbers: Creature will do anything it could to stay away as far as possible to the Brain Eater, it will use it's action.

Odd numbers: Creature attacks the Brain Eater with everything it can, it will use it's action.

 

 Every round all Creatures that see the Brain Eater's True/Unclothed form will have to roll a Wisdom Saving Throw until they succeed

Brain Eaters are the same size as humans. Your size is medium

True/Unclothed Form

When you take off your clothes to reveal your true form you can activate your claws that will deal 2d6 poison damage.

To activate your True/Unclothed form you will have to consume your Action for this round.

To deactivate you would also need to consume your action for 2 rounds.

Whenever you kill a human enemy, you will have the urge to strip and reveal your True/Unclothed form to wear their skin.

To prevent that you will have to roll a wisdom saving throw. With 11 above being a success and 10 below bring a failure.
