Homebrew CyberFolk Species Details

Origins of Cyberfolk: As far as the inhabitants of (canonical world name) understand, cyberfolk are inexplicable. However, this is, so to speak, incredible far from the truth. As most Cyberfolk understand it, there are (at least) two realms: The Network, and The Corporal. The Corporal is the realm in which (canonical world name) exists. The Network is as it sounds: a network. This is so to say that Cyberfolk usually don't associate with commonfolk, who, by their definition, are any beings from The Corporal. Instead, Cyberfolk act as unbiased cataloguers. Essentially, they are able to peek into the Corporal from the Network. As the network offers nothing more interesting to do, Cyberfolk spend their entire lives cataloguing. Because of this, majority of Cyberfolk are straightforwardly oriented, hardworking, and unaligned. Most Cyberfolk are emotionless. On some occasions, however, a Cyberfolk with zest is born. Zest is the word which Cyberfolk use to refer to the ability to feel emotion. Those with zest, or Bugfolk, as the generic cyberfolk will often say derogatorily, are cast aside. They aren't seen as fit for the digital world. Emotion hinders Impartiality, and it ruins the clean flow of documentation in the Network. When Bugfolk are cast aside, they get sent to the Corporal, never to see the Network again.

Corporeal Perception: Some beings in the corporeal deny the existence of cyberfolk. This is because they are incredibly rare. Many corporeal beings are at least distrusting of cyberfolk, who usually refuse to explain the network to them. Because of this, the public generally views Cyberfolk as ghosts, or angels. Most Cyberfolk are fine with this reputation, as they know that corporeal beings would not accept the truth anyway.

Appearance: Cyberfolk have pale blue skin. They often appear to be glowing. Cyberfolk hair is either white or navy blue, and floats as if suspended underwater. Cyberfolk are usually of human height, with little to no build.

Personality: Most cyberfolk, even those with zest, are analytical and clever. They may come off as arrogantly smart or overbearing to those in the corporeal. Bugfolk in particular are very emotional, as they are a vessel which was meant for apathy. Because of this, many bugfolk get easily overwhelmed, and have trouble processing their emotions. Cyberfolk are also often inquisitive and rational. (However, each Cyberfolk is different, and personality often comes down to the individual cyberfolk. Some cyberfolk may be the opposite of the majority. It just depends.)

Names: When Cyberfolk first come into existence, they are often born with an extremely long string of hexadecimal numbers as a name. Cyberfolk are easily able to remember their names, but due to their length, most other beings cannot. Because of this, those in the corporeal realm often give Cyberfolk nicknames. These nicknames can be almost anything. Additionally, It is not  uncommon for cyberfolk to go by the first few digits of their name, (Such as A-42 etc.)

Age: Lest they are killed by outside forces, Cyberfolk live exactly 1000 years before dissolving into nothing. Cyberfolk do not age, and they always appear to be in their early 20's.
