Homebrew Circle Fairy Mage Species Details

Fairys are a magical race that has hidden from the wider world because people sought them for their magic dust that can effect people in a variety of ways.

Tiny and Mischievous

All fairys enjoy the nectar from flowers and the occasional prank, bordering on maliciousness. Most fairys are between 6 inches to a foot high, and weigh around 2-5 pounds.

A Short Time Around

Fairys are fairly short lived, achieving their maturity at about 4 years old and living approximately 30-40 years before they simply fade from this Plane.

A Royal Welcome

Fairys are organized into Matriarchal hives that are lead by a Queen and Male fairys serve as a military force. However this is less of a forced servitude as a civilized society so many fairys do go exploring or even leave the hive altogether.

Hidden Fairy Circles

With their tiny stature and quick wings fairys are often found in deep woods or forests and live in small "Fairy Circles" that are portals to a sub-space in the Feywild. Fairy Workers leave the Circles to gather nectar and fruit to feed their Hive. They are talented pranksters, often playing pranks ranging from amusing to malicious, depending on their mood. Beware coming across a fairy in a bad mood as they can lead the unwary off the path and get them hopelessly lost. Their contact with outsiders is usually limited, though a few fairys leave the nest to seek adventure elsewhere.

Fairys encountered outside their own lands are commonly hunted for their "Fairy Dust" a powdery dust that can grant small miracles.

Fairy Names

Fairys are called by their self-proclaimed trade and the sound that there magic makes when they are excited. For Example: Tinker Bell, Warrior Gong, Tailor Drip, and so on. These names are almost always Gender Neutral and simplistic.
