Homebrew Albutallum Species Details

It is surprisingly not related to beholders. It's origin and method of reproduction are unknown,  including to its own race. Few heard of it, even fewer believe it exists. Some believe though, that it is what happens to a soul that is destroyed. Although this rumor has no evidence to back it up.

These creatures only remember one day waking up in a place where aberrations are common, like the underdark and the far realms. They speak deep speech, although no one, not even them, really know how they even are capable of talking. They have a radius of 1ft for the main body, but their tentacles are 10ft long.

This race is extremely young, being the youngest known one. They do seem to be immortal though. Lacking need to eat, drink, or sleep, as well as not age. When one is killed, the body disappears, and it'll later, around a day, appear once more, completely healed.

Albutallum Traits

Your strange form and unknown abilities are very interesting.

True Immortal

You don't, eat, drink, or sleep. Nor do you age. When killed, you respawn one day later, with HP, spell slots, and abilities restored. Your race lacks a soul as well.

You will have to roll percentile dice to decide where you spawn. 1-25 is the far realms, 26-50 is the underdark, 51-59 are one of the nine hells, with the number minus 50 being the level you spawn on, 60 is Mount Celestia, 61-80 is at the nearest graveyard, 81-90 you spawn a couple of miles away, 91-95 you spawn at the nearest village, and 96-100 you spawn where you died.

Tentacles

You gain advantage on grapple, and can grapple and attack from 10ft. (+5 grapple & +10 range)

Base Language

Your race speaks deep speak due to its unknown connection with the far realms.

Odd Shape

Due to your shape, most armors don't fit and you need costum made armor.

Oddest Of Oddities

Few know about your race, and even fewer believe your race exists. This doesn't help with charisma to say the least, giving you disadvantage on diplomacy. (-5 charisma)

Hover

Your race gets around by hovering. Although this can be very useful, it's very risky. Every time you are hit, you must past a con save. If you fail, you're stunned for one turn, unless you're already stunned, in which case you fall to the ground and take bludgeoning damage. If it's a range attack, you must get higher than a 10, but if it's a melee, you must get higher than 15. When you fall, damage amount varies upon height.. At 5-10ft, it's 1d4. 11ft-30ft it's 1d8. 31ft-50ft, it's 1d10. 51ft-100ft is 1d20. 101ft-150ft knocks you unconscious aslong as you have more than 20 HP, else you die. Any higher hight is death. Less than 5ft is none.
