Homebrew Asparian Species Details

Elemental Origins

Created during the Elemental Collapse, this race was created by earth and fire elementals who were beginning to degrade in the Material Plane. The only way to save themselves was to bond with a living creature on the plane. Luckily they had found horses and bound themselves to the Material Anchor of a horse, shifting their form from that of an Elemental, to that of a two legged creature, standing upright, with the head of a horse.

Nomadic Tribes of the Rolling Plains

The Asparians often live in nomadic tribes, travelling around the plains and through the forests. Herding all sorts of creatures including sheep and goats. The live off the land and lack most forms of agriculture. However, there are some Asparians who have settled down into towns and began farming. The large town of Papaiwa is home to many of their people as well as other races who have immigrated to Asparian lands.

Asparian Traits

As an Asparian, you have certain traits and abilities different to that of other humanoids and beastfolk. Moving faster than other species for a short time and have a sense of balance that other species lack. You also can see quite well in the dark.

Ability Score Increase

Due to your Equine heritage and excellent agility, you get an increase to certain abilities. You get a +2 to your dexterity score.

Darkvision

Due to your horse characteristics, you can see up to 60ft in dim light as if it were bright light. You can also see up to 60ft in darkness as if it were dim light. You cannot discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Unstoppable Charger

The Asparians have inherited several traits from their Equine ancestors. One of the things they inherited is using their sturdy frames and muscular legs to move at great speeds and travel fast distances. When using your dash action, you can move up to triple your movement instead of double.
