Homebrew Vunkirot Species Details

Appearance

Their race is known for a scarlet complexion, sloping forehead, jutting jaw and prominent teeth. Their hair, worn short in a simple style, is usually ruddy, blue or pale hued. Males grow facial hair, with long sideburns, though beards and moustaches are rare. Their eyes are usually dark red or blue. Their clothing, usually bronze or tan, is elaborately decorated with embroidery, embossing, or gleaming jewels.

Description

They are homebodies by nature, most of them likely to spend their lives tucked away in their secluded villages, and are also quite happy living in the communities of other races, working as cobblers, trappers, foresters or storytellers.

 

Their artisans regard the fruits of their labors with the same love that members of other races reserve for their children. A their works are built to last for centuries, to carry a legacy into the world long after the individual is gone.

They guard their personal creations with the vigilance and ferocity of a dragon protecting a treasure hoard. Such protectiveness isn't often called for in the company of friends and family- but just as a parent doesn't leave a child unattended, members of this race don't craft an item and then knowingly leave it vulnerable to being stolen (or worse). A dwarf who loses an item to thievery pursues the item's recovery or seeks vengeance against the thieves with the same fury that parents direct against those who kidnapped their child.

The best artisans are revered for their skills.

Adventurers among them usually venture into the world for reasons of community, friendship, wanderlust, or curiosity. They love discovering new things, even simple things, such as exotic gems or an unfamiliar style of clothing.

An individual has a given name, a family name, and possibly a nickname. Each family name is a unique creation, though it might reflect the names of respected individuals or other family members.
