Homebrew Artungor Species Details

Artungor is a term that means "Black Insect" from 'art' ("Insect or Bug") and 'Ungor' ("Black"). Though this is ironic considering the Artungor are actually Arachne. They were creatures who developed within the deepest darks of the world. They carry a variety of skin colors in shades of grey, and their features vary, from long pedipalps or numerous eyes. Early in the Second Era, they began to make their way out into the world, adapting into certain realms, and though sparse in numbers they are looked upon with confusion, interest, and prejudice in many parts

Cavern Dwellers

Fittingly, the Artungor find comfort in Dark, Deep, and Damp places. They can have a close relationship with the Cavern Elves and Dwarves, for they have a large number of skills to offer in exchange for residency. Within above-surface civilizations, Artungor will often try to emulate their native habitat in their homes or rooms by removing light and slightly damp walls.

Seamsters

All Artungor can slowly but steadily produce strong silk from orifices in their hands to string together things like webs, clothing, and tapestries. Though it is most often found to be done by women, many Artungor use their silk production abilities as a form of art and culture, though it is also certainly a useful skill in the mercantile business.
