Homebrew Alamour Species Details

I shit you not! Just this morning I saw one, a messenger of the gods. I was out near the cloud roots, and I see this small speck in the air., right right…And the sun was beaming down so bright blinding me that for a split second I couldn’t see but when I turned away, I heard a loud splash and right there in the water it was. Small and furry a long tail and clothed in robes! I asked if it needed any help, but it just rolled on its back and said it had an important mission to go on and to not bother him else I would suffer the wrath of the gods for interfering…Don’t Laugh! It’s true!!

Three Points Tavern

The call of adventure is what beats the heart for most Alamour. Home is a concept foreign to them, and nothing fuels their desire to live more than exploration. Many Alamour tend to venture forth alone beating the drum to their own song of adventure, but many more tend to find residency among adventuring groups or as well established for hire adventures in guilds. While the call for adventure is strong, Alamour do also find thrills in their downtimes as well; known for being the life of many a celebration, and often the cause for many shambled taverns. Regardless of if you've found an Alamour in a tavern or for hire at your local guild, you've found a brave, loyal companion and a blast of a traveling mate.

Kind hearted tricksters

Alamour inhabit many places throughout Fienus, but are most commonly found near the land-locked sea Coraven. It is here where they got known for something other than being adventurous. When they first began explorations out of Roeran, and first made contact with the below dwellers, the Alamour told the people they encountered that they delivered messages to the gods. Soon the legends spread of the intelligent rodents that were carriers. While a harmless lie, the Alamour fell into guilt about it and began promising a message to the gods if the person they met helped them. Of course, they could not deliver the actual message but would instead, provide whatever favor or good dead the person asked for to them, no matter how long it took to come back.

While there are many who still believe the Alamour to be messengers of the gods, many have seen through the lies. Nonetheless, you can be assured that if you encounter an Alamour it has tricked you at least once but has given you payment for it.

Creatures of Obsession

Alamour often exhibit signs of the following strange behaviors. The options below can help build out some personality traits your character might exhibit.

1- I become extremely anxious if I must take a path that does not have something I can walk against.

2- My teeth are extremely important, I must spend exactly 15 minutes every day, and not a second more grinding them down by gnawing on something hard.

3- The cold means it is time to burrow and sleep, no adventuring for me today.

4- Any time I make camp I must bury my food. That way I know exactly where to go for my multiple late-night snacks.

Tiny but Mighty

The size of Alamour is deceiving. Despite their diminutive size, they are brave adventurers. Often the first time empty the lair of a Beholder, or ride on the back of a Giant into to battle.

Sitting is Boring

Most Alamour begin to become antsy if they stay in one place for too long. They live short lives and the call of adventure is too strong for them to ignore it. There is a saying among the Alamour:  If I sit my tail will fall off.

Alamour don't often like to rest for long periods of time, often thinking their life to short to waste on being boring or repetitive.

If I sit my tail will fall off and I'd much rather have a slobbering mauw remove it then my own ass.
