Homebrew Adhigrin Species Details
Adhigrin have been the natives of the Elsh deserts since history can recall. A sturdy and nomadic folk, Adhigrin roam the harsh, stormy lands of the continent of Afgeng in their native land of Elsh trading with bordering and cross-sea lands. Often considered quite passive and peaceful until provoked, most leave these large, beastlike people to their own devices in their harsh desert homeland with few large cities or towns.
Visually Adhigrin look like massive, slouched canines with short, powerful legs and long arms that end in thick, clawed fingers that brush against the ground. Many Adhigrin walk on all fours, using their knuckles to help support their dense, muscular forms until they need to leap between the many cliffs and chasms of Elsh. As such, despite their steady, slow pace of both travel and speech, Adhigrin are known for sudden bursts of energy and great leaps across dunes, cliffs and chasms.
Socially, Adhigrin tend to be friendly, though shy away from quick talkers or overwhelming social situations like crowds or festivals. Many Adhigrin consider those they spend time with to be as family, lacking much in the way of familial connection themselves as their nomadic homes don't hold much value in genetic bonds, but communal caretaking.
As adventurers, Adhigrin can become curious of the world beyond the desert, and find thrill or satisfaction discovering bonds with a band of companions who take risks. They usually find themselves as protectors of their group of "family," falling naturally into roles that can guard others, such as fighters and paladins. The rare few Adhigrin with magical talent are often born with it, or left their society to study magic separate from their somewhat Magusphobic culture.

Age
Adhigrin mature around the age of 20. Compared to Humans, Adhigrin rarely live past the age of 130.
Alignment
Passive, Nomadic creatures as they are, Adhigrin tend to lean towards Neutral alignments, preferring to wait, watch and learn rather than press their wills on others. Adhigrin adventurers, however, can often lean into other alignments as they crave more chaotic and interesting experiences.
Size
Adhigrin tend to be tall, bulky creatures between 7 and 8 feet in height, and average 340 pounds in weight. They are the largest humanoid race in Arga outside of a raging Kwo'Rai.
Speed
Adhigrin are slow, hulking individuals until they summon a burst of energy to leap over distances. Your walking speed is 20 feet, and is not affected by armor or encumbrance.
Chasm Leaper
Adhigrin have adapted to leaping and bounding over the great chasms in the deserts of Elsh. They gain +4 to Athletics checks when leaping, and once per a short rest they can leap a distance equal to twice their walking speed as a movement action. This movement provokes attacks of opportunity as normal from the point they leap, as they crouch down and coil their bodies.
Desert Hide
The harsh desert heat and odd storms in Elsh have left the Adhigrin with tough, resilient hides to endure the many sandstorms and even molten glass rains. Adhigrin have resistence to fire damage, and +1 to AC when not wearing heavy armor.
Passive Creature
With their slow, passive nature, Adhigrin are often unprepared to strike creatures around them when they retreat. Adhigrin cannot use their Reaction to take attacks of opportunity, though they can still use their Reaction for other purposes.
