Homebrew Batblood Species Details

Batbloods are a rare race, scientifically created by an alchemist vampire, who was experimenting with mixing Elven and his own blood. They look like young, pale white-skinned elves, with color-changing eyes and big batwings they can transform on their backs, giving them the ability to fly. They are misunderstood and seen as untrustworthy since their outlook similarity to vampires, but they can't be left without a drooling gaze, seducing eyes due to their breathtaking beauty with a charming voice and personality.

The Most Attractive Experiment

Batbloods are extraordinarily beautiful, some more attractive than Elves. Their 6 ft tall appearance and muscle mass are enhanced and perfected, eye color changes from golden brown to blood-red, or the other way around. These features helps them to attract their prey—more specifically, to attract and fascinate the unsuspecting victim. However not all batbloods are particularly pleasing to the eye, and they might look average but this is a rare occurrence, as they normally select their friends, groups, and victims exceptionally.

Their skin is flawless and textured with a marble-like substance much harder and stronger than granite, hair of white, grey, darker grey, rarely even darker brown. Batbloods have no facial or body hair. They enjoy a wide variety of elegant clothing with a darker variety of all colors but dark red is the most favored to them.

Frequent, Self-Aware Traveller

Though there are not a range of Batblood lifestyles, the most common is nomadic. Batbloods live in small minorities found mostly in human cities or towns, often in the roughest quarters of them. Sometimes they live among other minority populations in enclaves where they are treated with more respect. 

Lacking a homeland, Batbloods move frequently, never settling permanently in one place. This pattern is partly an attempt to hide from the notice of others because they are not quick to trust anyone who claims to be a friend unless they prove them to be one. If so, batbloods give their full loyalty and become a firm friend or ally for life.

Vampire Conscience

Batbloods are born with or develop a value for other's life. The consumption of blood is such a known aspect of vampire life that few ever question it. The driving thirst for blood seems irresistible. However, the batbloods are those who do learn to value other races' life in spite of this reality and are able to subsist on meals made by them. They rarely drink blood and when they do, only animal blood. Even so, animal blood is unappealing to them, and thus a difficult diet to maintain. This race is also not known to be killed by sunlight, garlic, or any kind of stake or cross. They can't turn into bats either, they can only transform bat wings to their backs, which they can fly with for about 3 hours daily.

They usually adopt names from other races, most commonly they use elven names, but sometimes they use names of aasimar or tiefling

Female Names: Eilsatra, Nightwhisper, Valqirelle, Nightwish, Pescria, Shanarei, Levuphis, Mithlyvia

Batblood Traits

Your batblood has the following racial traits

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity and Charisma score increases by 2.

Age

Batbloods reach adulthood at age 40 and live up to 250 years.

Alignment

Batloods might not have the tendency toward evil, but many of them end up there. Evil or not, an independent nature inclines many batbloods toward chaotic alignment.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Elvish, and Abyssal.

Darkvision

Since you are part vampire, you have superior vision in dark, and dim conditions. You can see in darkness within 80 feet of you as if it were daylight. You can't discern color in darkness only shades of grey.

Vampiric Resistance

You have resistance against necrotic damage and poison damage.

Bat Flight

You can transform batwings behind your back which gives you the ability to fly in a speed of 50 feet. To use it again you need to take a long rest.

Size

Batbloods size is about almost the same size and build as humans but always a feet taller. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
