Homebrew Yodel (SW) Species Details

The species to which the Jebi High Pubah Yodel belonged Is ancient and shrouded in mystery. Members of this species are rarely seen anywhere in the universe. The few members of this species seen in the universe are all Power-sensitive, and the species' homeworld and name are unknown.

Biology and appearance

The species has two known sexes: male and female. Members of the species are small in size, roughly comparable to that of a human child, with green skin, large eyes, and long pointed ears. Their three-fingered hands ended in claws. The species are suggested to mostly have a carnivorous diet, with a preference towards catching and devouring live amphibians whole. Their ears are expressive, curling, and unfurling in accordance with their emotions.

Members of the species are capable of growing thin hair, with shades varying from auburn to white being documented, females having longer and thicker hair than males. The species has a very long life expectancy, spanning at least several centuries; Yodel lived nearly a thousand years before dying of old age, and they age very slowly, remaining in infancy for at least 30 standard years. Even at this stage of life, certain Power-sensitive individuals of this species could use Power powers such as telekinesis and Power healing; they are also capable of complex thought processes, and can understand speech and communicate via the Power at this age. Despite their slow aging for the first three decades of life, members of the species reached maturity by their hundredth year, as exemplified by the Jebi Yodel, who began training other Jebi when he was about one hundred years old.

Society and culture

Due to the rarity of the species in the wider Universe, little was known about them except that the species is ancient and shrouded in mystery. Members of the species are capable of speaking Universal Common, although Yodel uses a distinctive and archaic syntax.

Your Yodel character has the following racial traits.

Innate Spellcasting

Yodels are very Power sensitive. You know the mage hand cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the feather fall spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the suggestion spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
You may use your spell slots to cast these spells as well.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma, Intelligence or Wisdom score increases by 1.

Age

Yodels reach adulthood at age 100 and live up to 900 years.

Size

Yodels are between 3 and 4 feet tall and weigh between 40 and 80 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Fury of the Small

When you damage a creature with an attack or a spell and the creature’s size is larger than yours, you can cause the attack or spell to deal extra damage to the creature. The extra damage equals your level. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Nimble Escape

You can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of your turns.
