Homebrew Axolotl Folk Species Details

This is a mix of a human and an axolotl hence the name Axolotlenoid (Axe-uh-lot-ol-uh-noid) humanoid axolotl. This creature has webbed hands and feet. It also has the axolotl "frills" coming out of the back of its head. The color varies, you can find colors such as green, yellow, brown, white, double sided (also known as chimera morph axolotls), and for this race you are able to pick what the color is. Axolotls live in mexico, and there are about 50-1000 left as of 2019.

Since this race is amphibious there will be some traits related to the water.

Regeneration

While you are in a short or long rest you can choose to heal 1d10 hit points + your constituion modifier. this feature only works on yourself and while you are resting.

You can breathe both air and water

Darkvision

You now have darkvision up to 80ft.

Ability score increase

You gain +1 constitution and +2 wisdom

Water dependency

If you fail to immerse yourself in water for at least 1 hour during a day, you suffer 1 level of exhaustion at the end of that day. You can recover from this exhaustion only through magic or by immersing yourself in water for at least 1 hour.

Axolotlenoids are usually 4-5ft in length. You are of medium size.

Alignment

Axolotlenoids are typically good natured folk therefor they are typically of any good alignment

Age

You reach full maturity at age 16 and can live up to 60 years.

Blindsight

You have blindsight up to 5ft while underwater.

Proficiencies

You gain proficiencies in the following: Shortswords, daggers, javelins, spears, nets, and pikes.
