Homebrew Awakened Sandwich Species Details

Awakened Sandwiches have the mind of ordinary humans as well as invisible limbs. They have the same capabilities as any race and taste much better.

Awakened Sandwich Traits

Sandwiches don't usually live long, but Awakened Sandwiches have a much higher lifespan thanks to their improvements.

Age

Awakened Sandwiches nearly double their shelf life compared to normal sandwiches, up to 2 years if they're lucky.

Alignment

Your sandwich can be anything, vegetarian (evil), egg (neutral), or meaty (good)

Speed

Unless thrown, sandwiches don't get very far, about 15 feet.

Throwable Friend

Like normal sandwiches, Awakened Sandwiches can be thrown around, though these can do it more than once. At anytime another creature can pick you up, willing or not, and throw you. As an attack this is equal to a dart (see stats of dart weapon) except dealing bludgeoning damage instead of piercing, the attack also counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Invisible Limbs

To the naked eye, an Awakened Sandwich looks like a floating sandwich, when really the have tiny legs poking out the bottom of the bread and little arms poking out the innards of the sandwich. These limbs cannot be seen by anyone other than the sandwich. Because of your weird limbs your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage, however damage is calculated as 1+half your strength modifier.

Ability Score Increase

Thanks to your magical roots your mind is far beyond the ordinary sandwich.

Size

Your size is tiny, between 1-2ft tall and 1-5lbs.

Sandwich is Life

If you are willing, you may give your life up to a willing creature. This causes you to die, no saves, just die. The creature who ate you gains 2d12 temporary hit points or if the creature is dying they are stabilized and gain 1 hit point.

If you are not willing the creature attempting to eat you must succeed a grapple check to eat you, if they fail you gain an opportunity attack against them with and additional 2d12 damage.
