Homebrew Avalarian Dragon Species Details

Avalarian Dragons (Ah-vuh-lar-ee-uhn  drag-on s) 

Ancient Magicians, and Titans of Creation

Avalarian Dragons were among the first of the races to settle the magical realms of Avalar. Their widely diverse set of skills made them the perfect candidates to shape an untamed land into a thriving realm of beauty and wonder filling it with many races, sub worlds, cultures, and refined magic. They are the artisans of the world, the keepers of the peace, the makers of beasts, the weavers of dreams, and the crafters of magic itself. In their younger age dragons will primarily be quadrupedal in stature, though their forelimbs will have adjusted claws and digits for fingers and will function like hands they will usually grasp things with their mouths instead. From the minute a dragon is born they have natural horns that will retain their shape and grown in size as they grow into adulthood, with a slight variation to the design of their spines and spike rows. Avalarian dragons come in a wide variety of colors, practically covering the entire visible color spectrum, Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Orange, Indigo, Pink, and all shades and tints there between.

Not all Avalarian Dragons are the same, some are built skinnier but far more adept at magic, while others are stockier and more adept at combat, this is usually best defined by the sorts of realms they live in. The Realms of Avalar are as follows. 
Artisans - The Home of the World Shaping Dragons fine crafters of the arts and the titans of constructive prowess.
Beast Makers - The Home of the Dragons who use their more wild magics to forge the creatures of Avalar from the most miniscule insect, to the most colossal of sea creatures. 
Peace Keepers - The Home of the Warrior Dragons, brave and stalwart, stockier in build they are among the first to march into battle and among the last to leave.
Dream Weavers - The Home of the Dragons of Inspiration, those that bring dreams to the realms and inspire imagination and ideas
Magic Crafters - The Home of the Dragons who wield the raw arcana and refine it to shape the magic to their will and create new spells.

Avalarian Dragon Traits

Avalarian Dragons come in a multitude of shapes, sizes, and skillsets that are refined through generations for survival in their realms along with other realms, and protection of the realms.

Submerged Specialty

When your dragon enters a deep enough river or lake they are able to swim, at level 1 they can swim at the same speed they can walk, and are able to hold their breath 5 times as long as a normal person.

Flame's the Game

During an action phase you may breath fire to do one of the following, Heat an item, melt an item, burn an item, or attack an enemy. 

When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy in a 15-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the creature takes 1d damage of the type associated with your Chromatic Ancestry. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).

You can use your Breath Weapon a number of times equal to two times your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a  rest.

The Horns aren't for Show

Once during an action phase as a bonus action you may roll to Charge in order to Break a barrier, break an object, or attack an enemy.
Roll 1d12 Physical attack
Range is forward 6 Meters in a straight line.

Ability Score Increase

Increase Charisma +2

Size

Small = 2-3 ft tall
Medium = 5-8 ft tall
Large = 10-15 ft tall

Wing's aren't made for walkin!

Once per action phase you may roll to fly or glide a distance equal to 1d6 in meters. 

Age

A dragon ages at roughly the same rate as a human would, however they tend to live MUCH MUCH LONGER
A dragon will reach physical maturity at the age of 20
A dragon can live to reach ages of 500 or greater. 

As a dragon ages their body physiology will allow them to adapt to a life between quadrupedal and bipedal stature. 

The Land's Demand

Pick one of the realm's as your home and gain the benefit of that realm.

Artisans You are a physically creative sort +1 to Dexterity or Intelligence Gain proficiency in 2 Skills or tools of your choice or the Artificer Initiate feat.

Peace Keeper You are a physically strong sort +1 to Strength or Constitution Gain the Martial Adept feat.

Beast Makers You are a Wild Hearted Sort  +1 to Wisdom or Constitution. Gain proficiency in Animal Handling or Survival and the Druidcraft Cantrip.

Dream Weavers You are an Imaginative Sort and gain a +1 to Wisdom or Charisma. You gain proficiency in a musical instrument, and the Thaumaturgy Cantrip

Magic Crafters You're a Smart Sort and gain a +1 to Intelligence or Charisma. Gain the Magic Initiate Feat.
