Cephalids are Medium sized creatures but are also able to fit into areas that only small creatures can.

You can breathe in water or in air.

If you fail to immerse yourself in water for at least 1 hour during a day, you suffer one level of exhaustion at the end of that day. You can only recover from this exhaustion through magic or by immersing yourself in water for at least 1 hour.

Cecaelia can use their extra tentacles to quickly arm themselves with an item in their possession. It is only a bonus action to take an item from a container instead of a full action. You can draw or stow weapons or items not in a container (on a belt for example) for free.

You have advantage on Grapple checks, and you have advantage on all checks against a Grappled creature. You also have advantage escaping grapple checks.

You may use this ability as a bonus action to change the color of your skin, hair and eyes to either get advantage in a Stealth check or an Intimidation check. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you may recover all uses after a long rest.

Once per long rest, as an action, you can deploy an ink cloud similar to casting the darkness spell. Once you do this, your speed is increased by 15 feet and you can't be hit by opportunity attacks for the rest of the round.

When determining your character's ability scores, increase on of those scores by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy.

Your character can read and write common and one other language.

Due to your background inhabiting the deep caves at the edges of the reef, you gain proficiency on all Stealth checks.

Cecealia have a typical lifespan of a century.
