Homebrew Cyborg Species Details

As with everything, there tends to be an equal and opposite force. A balance. And so as magic flows across the world and is controlled and mastered, science is born in its wake. A new power, yet to be fully realised and mastered.

A boom in scientific development has led to the creation of mechanical technologies to revolutionise society. Reshaping cultures across the continents. And now, enhancing individuals.

Self-improvement had usually been confined to the realms of magic which was afforded to only the most gifted, privileged, or genetically endowed. But betterment with technology can come to anyone with coin. And as technology flourishes throughout the world, they can be achieved with a few coins.

As such, in the private hospitals to the seedy back alleys, a hybrid of natural organisms and biomechatronics is created. Cyborgs.

But there’s no knowing what such technological changes and enhancements might achieve; for better or worse. Nor who might be involved in giving them.

Cyborg Traits

+2 Strength, +1 Dexterity, +2 Constitution

Darkvision/ Echolocation

Using one, discreet, emitter located in their brow, cyborgs can use echolocation to find out where things are in a room. They can see up to a full 60ft away but only a freeze-frame that is refreshed .5 every second.

Recharge

As you rely on some electricity or bio-mechanics to sustain your lifeforce you do not need a full 8 hours sleep. A long rest can be achieved with 4hours of sleep or with 8 hours awake but in a stasis state. Whilst you are still conscious you are unable to move or communicate.

Cybernetic Knowledge

You have proficiency in Tinker's Tools and the Arcana Skill

Cannot Squeak

Squeak, squeak, squeak. A disadvantage of stealth checks.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice including Binary (a series of white noise sounds and binary code used by Androids and Warforged).

Age

Depending on enhancements, Cyborgs don’t typically age at the same rate as humans. Due to careful monitoring, organic systems are often replaced with artificial ones. As such they tend to live 30-100 years more than the average human. Some do experience limitations in later life if software/hardware is not kept up to date.
