Do not accept intollerance, bigotry, or rational ignorance. Teach those to follow in the paths of the dragons, and defeat or unite those who oppose it. Love fully and live fuller. Do ntoo let my life be in vain.

— Karronos: Letter of death 3rd age

Walking as an alien to many other races, the da'aarin are not often found among other races. Adventure is just as important as time for reflection to the da'aarin. They find this as a way to better themselves. While devotion and holiness is not uncommon, the da'aarin add a new meaning in terms of utilizing their devotion to keep dragons safe as well as influential in the world despite their long luster from others. Da'Aarin are highly artistic and intellectual, valuing their ability to think above almost all else. It is not so much the ability for high thought just that they can. While many hope to promote draconic will there are some that believe dragons of old have entrusted them to do what is best.  Foreign Appearance

Similarities and Differences

Upon first glance da'aarin look human-like, but upon close inspection, they are far from human. In height, weight, and hair color they are on par with humans, though that is where the similarities stop. The main distinguishing factor of the da'aarin is the thin pale red lines that run the length of their arms and legs. Starting between the second and third digits on the extremities, these lines run up to shoulder and waist respectively; as well as one that runs horizontally down their mouth that allows them to speak in split voices. While these might appear like odd scars to the untrained eye, these features are able to open allowing the da'aarin to make a more gentle descent from high places. Additionally, the skin collar of the da'aarin can vary greatly from the common tones of humans to a more robust color spectrum akin to that of draconic colors, including some family lines that include small stripings. They range from under 5 feet to about 6 feet tall, and from 100 to 180 pounds. Male da'aarin tend to be slightly taller and leaner with well-defined muscles. Female da'aarin are slightly shorter, less defined, and more curvaceous than that of a male da'aarin. It would be unwise to underestimate a female da'aarin though. Despite the difference in appearance, they have strong powerful legs and incredible flexibility. While the terms male and female are used above the da'aarin do not share the same genders as humans or other humanoid races. Da'aarin have a unique ability to reproduce sexually and asexually. Da'aarin who plan to carry a child tend to find themselves in a female-presenting form for ease and strength of child carrying and birthing, though it is not unheard of for them to bear in a masculine-presenting form.

Da'aarin can not change their gender presentation at the drop of a hat, they must have a dedicated week of meditation undisturbed to do so. This event usually marks a change in their life of values beliefs of other stressful situations.

Draconic Roots

It is hard to speak of the da'aarin without speaking of dragons. Many ages ago all races worshipped dragons like gods, yet the da'aarin are the only ones that stay true to this devotion. Once riders of these great beasts the da'aarin were granted many of their features as gifts from dragons, including their, ability to reproduce, and descend great heights without risking grave injury. Many da'aarin know honor the difference between the chromatic and metallic dragons finding devotion to typically metallic dragons although there are malicious intended da'aarin groups who worship evil dragons in secret.
