Homebrew Deserters Species Details

Thrown into a world where most dislike them, and the others are trying to kill them. Survival is the only goal, and anything to achieve that is within reason and ethics. No close relationships, even with family. 

Deserters are a lizard-like species, who spend all of their time scavenging for food. They are typically very introverted. They have surprisingly long lifespans, even though most of them don't reach it, being eaten as an egg or killed for their scales as kids.

 

Deserter Names

Deserter parents choose a name for their youngling as soon as they lay the egg. Male eggs are a more blue-ish color, while female eggs are orange or yellow. Males get shorter names, while females get longer more eloquent names.

Male Names: Throt, Braknu, Krut, Kraxl, Zuut, Karolta, Bhosk, Rashak, Drizz, Tuxl, Jaz, Bazk, Chux, Trit

Female Names: Dhoriass, Cadraxess, Areklesk, Iriquass, Shriess, Skroziz, Drothi, Anacoz

Your species has had to evolve over time to survive, manifesting in many ways.

Ability Score Increase/Decrease

Your Dexterity ability score increases by 1.

Your Constitution ability score increases by 2.

Your Strength ability score decreases by 1.

Age

Deserters must grow and learn fast. If they don't, they end up dead to predators. After hatching, they walk, and they can live up to 80 years, but most don't.

Size

Deserters are very small, to avoid being seen by creatures they don't want to be seen by. Their tallest is around 5'5", but they are typically in the 4 foot region. Your size is Medium or Small.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Damage Resistance

You have resistance to fire damage because of your birth and life spent in the heat.
