Alecto's wings are not made for long flight, rather they are more useful in short bursts of mobility. You can extend your wings when not unconscious or incapacitated and slow your descent. When gliding in this way you can travel up to your movement per 10 feet you descend. 

In addition, you can use a bonus action to triple jump distance for the round using the lift given from the wings. You do not need to be on the ground to gain the vertical movement of the jump. You can do this a number of times equal to your Constitution Modifier per long rest.

When wearing heavy armor, you glide half the speed and your jump distance is doubled rather than tripled. You cannot wear a shield and benefit from this and you cannot use a weapon while gliding as your hands are occupied.
