Homebrew Yardratian Species Details

Yardratians, or Yardrats for short, are a race that exists on a planet known as Yardrat. Yardratians are shorter in stature than humans, so they classify as Medium or Short. They have incredible walking speed due to their stature, and can even fly twice as fast. In appearance, they are known for lacking ears and having rounder heads and smaller eyes. Their skin tone varies from several different colors, including blue and green. Known to be a physically weak race, they possess significant abilities to manipulate magic; however there are some that are capable of fighting and known to be combative. Their skills are well-renowned across the universe, and have known to populate other planets other than Yardrat; there are some that exist on Toril as well.

Yardratian Traits

While weak in raw power, there is recognition in their magical and spiritual capabilities.

Spirit Control

Being generally a weak race, Spirit Control is the primary ability utilized by Yardrats. They are capable of using it for many applications, including using magic. All damaging and buffing spells gain a +1d6 to the final damage/buff.

Wise Beyond Their Years (ASI)

Due to their longevity and their knowledge of Spirit Control, you gain a +2 to your Wisdom score and a +1 to your Intelligence score.

Truesight

A creature with truesight can, out to a specific range, see in normal and magical darkness, see invisible creatures and objects, automatically detect visual illusions and succeed on saving throws against them, and perceives the original form of a shapechanger or a creature that is transformed by magic. Furthermore, the creature can see into the Ethereal Plane.
