Homebrew Anuit Species Details

The Anuit are a bird-like humanoid race that rule and protect the Stormlands of Proxima.  They are tribal big game hunters that spend all year preparing for the Val Hunt (the hunting of Val or Space Whales)

Anuit Society

Anuit society is divided into three groups:

The Hunters are the bravest of each clan and are selected to go off planet to participate in the Val Hunt.

The Lawkeepers are the protectors of the Stormlands and help to broker relationships between the Starmarked and the Iridians

The Foragers are the craftsmen of the clan. They store the Valus supply, mine Darklite from the Black Lands, and forge innovative technologies.

The Val Hunt

The Val are giant whales known for their fire and radiation protection that tend to inhabit asteroid belts. Once every year there is a pod of Val that make their way from the Valor asteroid belt to the Proxima moon of Nebia.

The Anuit Hunters will board ships from the moon and attack the pod. One Val could be as large as 20 miles in length, and would provide not only food and resources for the clan for a year, but also provide enough Valus to power the Proxima Solar Protection Shield.

Working with the Iridians

The Anuit need resources from the Iridians to be able to partake in the great hunt.   The Iridians provide regular supply of armor, weapons and transport to the Nebia moon all in exchange for a percentage of Valus to be used for the Protection Shield, and access to the rare element Darklite.

Darklite

Within the most iradiated area, called the Black Lands, Darklite is mined for its fire and combustion properties.

Anuit are able to use Valus as a protection against the fire and radiation to find the crystals.

It is a very unstable element that can only be forged by Anuit Smith masters without risking explosion or radiation exposure.

Working with the Starmarked

The Lawkeepers are able to help keep Iridians out of Stormlands, but also keep the peace in neutral zones like Freetown or New Halen.  They have this clout because both Iridians and Starmarked respect the Anuit clans.
