Homebrew Alogakians Species Details

Alogakians were a male-specific species created by the great wizard Mordenkainen in his infancy. They are a race of humanoids that have the faces of humans but the body of a mantis. This includes increased speed and strength, as well as wings that allow gliding for their user. They can blend into the human population with long cloaks and baggy clothing. If they remove their shirts, it reveals a green torso with wings, and they can jump and fly to a certain extent. They were previously persecuted, but they are not incredibly prone to violence. They also have a special weapon that can come out of their hands, small green piercers.

Alogakians Traits

Alogakians are a race of humanoids that have the faces of humans but the body of a mantis, giving them increased speed and strength, as well as wings that allow gliding and a certain extent of flight for the user.

Wings

The wings allow the user to jump and glide for 100 feet if they can roll higher than a 7 on a Dexterity roll. If they roll over a 13, they can fly for 300 feet.

If the user has chainmail armor, the user must also roll over a 12 on a Strength roll.

Mantis Claws

The Alogakians have a retractable set of mantis claws that allow for several different uses. They are partially magic, so they are practically weightless and can cut through more than they seem.

Every time the claws are activated, the user must make a Constitution saving throw. If they roll under 10, they take 2 temporary hitpoints of damage. The same applies to retract them.

The claws can cut through anything as strong as stone, but for cutting through stone, the user must do a Strength saving throw and roll over 10.

They can also be used to attack.
