Homebrew Batfolk/Chiropterian (2nd Edition) Species Details
A Common name given to them by most people are Common folk. But in there tongue they call themselves Chiropterian's. They are nomadic people who don't see themselves as a race but a Culture themselves. Anyone can become a Chiropterian if you respect there culture and there people as it is more a Lifestyle then a Race to them. They live in travelling bands that enjoy scavenging and trading for as much sweets as possible. They live in a very Free and individualized society where expression of self is highly appreciated.
There Origins are unknown even to there own people but many believe they where created by there great mother figure of the night. They call Madam Midnight. Some speculate that they come from a god or goddess from the lands of shadow fell and were banished to the mundane realms for being a black sheep of the dimension. But still there origins remain a Mystery.

Alignment
Chiropterian's are very Diverse in thinking. Some can be more Self absorbed or incredibly Selfless. Some are willing to do evil things to get a advantage or maybe not. Leading them to be mostly Chaotic Neutral. But often there Alignment can change with new cultures and situations presented to them.
Size
Small To Medium is often the common height, but they have a specific height range "2.5-5.5 Ft". They can often be a little on the thin side compared to most humanoids. They can weight up to around 70 to 100 pounds.
Speed
Movement Speed of 30 and a Climbing speed gained by Digitigrade Talons equal to Movement Speed.
Ability Score Increase
Two different ability scores of your choice increase by 1, then can gain 1+ with a choose between DEX, CHA, Or INT.
Mystic Chiropterian
A Chiropterian's have a deep connection to the winds and moon. They can awaken there inner magics hidden deep inside them which allows them to manipulate magics around the Winds of the world. Being able to create a Air blast with there wings and infuse The power of the wind to increase there bodily force, Allowing to magically use the wind to fly.
Level 5
- You gain the Ability to cast Gust as a Bonus Action with your Wings that can move anything size of object or creature up to the size of large. It also does not require verbal components to cast. You can cast this Unique version of Gust equal to your Profiency Modifier (You can regain the energy to create gusts of wind after a long rest). Your Talons can now do a 1d8+1 of damage instead of a 1d6. They also count as magical attacks.
Level 11
- With Great Knowledge and Growth of Power, The Ancient magics awakes in you. The magic makes your wings even more stronger and assists them in you granting you flight of 40ft. Your Talons deal now 1d10+(Profiency Modifier) as the Ancient magic enhance your Talons, Also as making them Silvered. The Unique Variant of gust no longer has a set amount of times to be casted.
Chiropterian Echolocation
Chiropterian's have Batlike senses and features that grant them with Blindsight up to 60ft given by there natural gift of Echolocation. When Deafened you cannot use your Blindsight as you require noise to make use of sight. An Adaptation to reliance on sound is a keen hearing allowing advantage on all Wisdom (Perception) based checks with reliance upon sound.
Wing Gliding
Your wings can be used to glide across the air to assist maneuvering through the air and Travel distances across the air. Your wings and your body can assist you gliding as your body is much different then from a actual bats. When you fall and are not incapacitated, you can subtract up to 100 feet from your fall when calculating your fall damage and can move horizontally 2 feet for every 1 foot you fall.
Chiropterian Eyesight
Chiropterian eyes sensitive and don't adapt easily like most eyes to harsh lighting. While in sunlight you have disadvantage on attack rolls unless you use your Echolocation (blindsight) as sight. While using your Eyes for sight you have disadvantage on checks that require sight to preform or do, Unless it is 5ft in front of you as you can decently make out what is front of you. This can be Negated while relying on your natural echolocation (blindsight).
Digitigrade Talons
You have Digitigrades for legs similar to your Bat kin. At the end of your legs you have large bone talons you can aid you in combat. You can use your Talons on your Legs and feet to deal 1d6 of slashing damage as a unarmed attack that your Proficient in. Much like rat bats your talons can be used to climb and hang onto walls and hang on things like branches. Granting you a Climbing speed equal to your movement speed. Attacks with the Talons count as finesse. Although you cannot use Talons for duel wielding Purposes but still benefits from any Unarmed attack.
