Homebrew Chiropkin Species Details

Created by the bat god Camazotz, the Chiropkin are race of humanoid bats that live in the underdark. With their arms doubling as their wings they tend to hold most things in their feet.  

Similar to other bat like animals the Chiropkin have prefect hearing. 

Your Chiropkin can resemble many species of bats ranging from the small microbat to the large flying fox. 

Creating Your Character

If you create a Chiropkin character, follow these additional rules during character creation.

Ability Score Increases

When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one of those scores by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy.

The “Quick Build” section for your character’s class offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You’re free to follow those suggestions or to ignore them. Whichever scores you decide to increase, none of the scores can be raised above 20.

Languages

Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Players handbook offers a list of widespread languages to choose from. The DM is free to add or remove languages from that list for a particular campaign.

Life Span

The typical life span of a Chiropkin spans up to 120 years but mature at the age of 15. 

Height and Weight

Your size can verry being either small or medium. their Hight can range between 3ft to 7ft tall with wingspans being appropriate for their size. they have a similar weight to humans. 

Blind Sight

Chiropkins hearing is so good they can use it as a way of feeling out an area when they are blinded or in an area they cant see. 

Chiropkin Traits

You have the following racial traits.

Size

You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you select this race.

Speed

Your walking speed is 25 feet.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 120 feet of yourself as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Blind Sight

Chiropkins hearing is so good they can use it as a way of feeling out an area when they are blinded or in an area they cant see. You have blind sight up to 120ft.

Flight

Thanks to your wings, you have a flying of 50. You can’t use this flying speed if you’re wearing medium or heavy armor. You also cant hold items in your hands when flying.
