Homebrew Anura (frog-folk) Species Details

Much like the Bullywug or Grung race, the Anura are frog-like humanoids. Although some have ventured into various cities and towns, the majority of these creatures live around bogs and swamps but have constructed bright cities built into the natural fauna of their habitats. Mostly neutrally aligned, the Anura have a loose political structure with a chief as the head of each different clan throughout the country, all elected but each serving out a lifelong position unless they decide to step down or there is an uprising and enough members of the clan complain to the council - also elected but rotating seats more often than the chief. 

The Anura prize cunning and smarts above all, as it takes cleverness to live in the noxious and dangerous atmosphere of the bogs. The Anura have webbed digits and stand between 5′4″‒6′ (1.6‒1.8 m) and weigh 150​ to ​240 pounds (68​ to ​110 kilograms) on average, although they can vary in body type. Their hides are smooth and reasonably tough, with mottled coloration ranging from emerald or olive green, yellow, brown, and gray to blend in with their various surroundings (there are stories of Anura that are translucent white and live in the snow mountain regions, as well as dark charcoal colored Anura that live in the cities and skulk in the alleyways and sewers). Anura skin is chameleon-like, and members of the race can slightly change their coloration to receive bonuses on Stealth checks (roll with advantage) if they use a bonus action to blend in and then remain motionless - the affect is gone when they move. The huge heads of Anura resemble those of frogs, with big, bulbous eyes, wide mouths, and long, flicking tongues.
