Homebrew Wretched Species Details

The Sorrowsworn are humans who stay too long in the Shadowfell, and they are amalgamated in the way they are feeling. The wretched is a sorrowsworn who was created from one who felt wretched, afraid, and in a very bad situation. They are small, but fast, creatures, that feed off of a creature’s life force and fear.

Wretched Traits

The wretched is a sorrowsworn who feeds on life force and fear.

Darkvision

As a wretched, your eyes are accustomed to darkness. You have Darkvision up to 60ft.

Transformed Body

When you became a Sorrowsworn, your body was horribly mutilated. You have no arms and speak no languages, and cannot hold any weapons. Your size is tiny, and your walking speed is 40ft.

Wretched Resistance

You have a strong body, despite having a small and weak one. You have resistance to Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing from non magical attacks while in Dim Light or Darkness.

Feed

As a wretched, your mouth was formed to feed on life force. You gain a Natural Weapon in the form of a bite, which uses ether Dexetrity or Strength to attack. If it hits, you deal 1d10 piercing Damage, and you latch on to the target. While attached, you can’t attack, and you deal 1d10+ either your strength or dexterity modifier necrotic damage. You may deal this damage a number of times equal to the amount of times you can attack.

Ability Score Increase

A wretched is usually dumb, weak, un charismatic, not perceptive, but is fast. You have a -2 bonus to Strength, a -3 bonus to Charisma and Intelligence, a +2 bonus to Dexterity, a -2 bonus to wisdom, and a -1 bonus to Constitution.

Wretched Pack Tactics

A wretched is not smart at all, but is very dangerous in groups. You have advantage on attack rolls when one or more of your allies, who isn’t incapacitated, is within 5ft of the creature. However, you otherwise have disadvantage on attack rolls.
