Homebrew Armored Greyscales Species Details
While the gods sung, destroyed, and created new breeds of creatures, only one species existed, and stayed firm until the end, and they were known as the Armored Greyscales. These creatures towered among its newly created brothers that were made by sheer accident of Essylliss's the brother of the god of survival who thought to much. While they may have protected their younger siblings from the threats of the dark forces throughout the realm, they did not realize they would be soon hunted by their own brothers who used the very power they fought against each day, against them.
The Lizardfolks had forgotten their ancient warriors that protected them for centuries old, due to the power of Sess'innek and his trickery of bestowing their false blessings among the chief clansman's across the lands. With this new power they were convinced easily to eliminate the threats that now existed within their clans, and targeted the once powerful Armored Greyscales, until nothing was left to be heard of again.
Soon the world forgot about them, but little did the lizardfolks know that some got away. Bitter, frustrated, and betrayed they slowly began to regrow in the deep jungles of the world. Their hatred burned through the deep jungles leaving no witnesses who dared venture into their land. None could let the lizardfolks know they time would come. That each moment the clock ticked their end was coming closer to them. The Greyscales were preparing, trying to regain their once glorious place in the realm, so that one day they would come again and show the world they were not dead. Soon the lizardfolks that once drove them out, would pay, and learn why they existed far longer then their brothers...
Survival by any Means
Isolation had once made them strong, but due to their incompetence in trying to protect their weaker brothers, they grew soft, so with Isolation in dangerous areas they would regain their strength. "What doesn't kill you just makes you stronger" is a common phrase in their community. By undergoing brutal life endangering circumstances they grew stronger. If one needed to eat another of its clanmates in order to live it was acceptable. If one needed fire by using their very homes that they built with their sweat and blood, it would burn. If one needed to lead their clan to success through ridding the lazy, the weak, and the softness within their kindreds, then so be it. Anything is acceptable if it means the clans survival. Anything is acceptable if it means to grow past your limits, and anything is acceptable if it means that you can live another day.
Survival of the Fittest
Strength, speed, and power were the only things that mattered when governing a tribe. If you were faster than the current chief, then kill him and take his place. If you are stronger than the current chief, then devour him till nothing his left and mark you place in the clan. Finally if you had the power or ability to rid the chief, then do so with no regrets and lead the clan to greatness. These are the rules of the clan. Those who live in the clan each contribute to surviving and each should be as strong as the next. It does not matter if you are a female, or a male, as long as you have the power to rule, than it is in your right to do so. Those underneath the chief will follow and listen to all your orders without question. You are the mind of the clan, but each chief must remember without a good understanding of their forces and strength they will fall, and shortly replaced.
Physical Qualities
Armored Greyscales are very similar to crocodiles in stature, but their height dwarfs most races. They can tower over most creatures, with the average armored greyscale standing over 7 feet tall and the tallest being known for being at 9 feet tall. Their physical strength is one of their best aspects about themselves, but in the end its their hardened bodies that made them indomitable. Their scales are thick and greyish green in nature, most have hardened spikes along their back, and along the sides of their arms and legs. These spikes make it quite hard to fight against them as each blow could nick or tear into their opponents. Their eyes vary between Dark red, to deep ocean blue tones and gleam whenever they catch light. Unlike regular lizardfolks armored greyscales however, have much higher life span. They can live as long as 200 years because of how tough and durable their race as survived in extreme conditions.
