Homebrew Axolotl Species Details

Axolotls are ancient reptilian/humanoid creatures, they evolved from the original Axolotls that once live in the lands before changing form. due to their scales having healing like powers they are hunted after but are always one step ahead of the hunters. They have been discovered deep in cities deep in many bodies of water. axolotls come in many different colors some examples are green, brown, pink, yellow, red, white, etc. They are quite vicious and territorial, always keeping their homes safe, especially if there are threats. They are known to eat other fish and insects. They are known to travel in pacts and hunt for food. They can be small or medium sizes, so it makes it easier for them to hide in small spaces when hunting. They have a thick tail and webbed feet to help them swim in water much easier. The strange antennae appendages on their heads help the Axolotls search the area a lot easier. Out of water, thanks to the small shell-like marking that they have on their chests they are able to shift into a human form of their choice allowing them to blend into society.

Able to see 120 feet in front of them only in dark waters, but only 60 feet out of water. only is in effect in very dark areas

Able to breath while under water 

Age

Axolotls can live for hundreds of years. no one knows why that is possible 

Languages

Able to speck, read, and understand the languages of Sylvan, elven, and common

Human form

Thanks to their shell marking they can turn into a human form of their choice

Healing scales

thanks to Axolotl scales having healing powers and axolotl is able to heal themselves and others a lot easier

Harden body

once a day an axolotl can harden the scales on their body making their skin impenetrable

Pack mentality

You can call upon a pack of normal axolotls to fight with you. they pack will last as long as you want them to.

Camouflage

depending on the color of the axolotl you can blend into your surroundings, but any axolotl can become invisible in water
