Homebrew Blast Beak Species Details

Blast Beaks are a race of Phoenix people that are unable to fly. They have a constant flame directly tied to their emotions on their head and shoulders. If a Blast Beak is killed they turn into ash making them a very unwanted meal by many creatures, however if they die from old age they are reborn to an egg with no recollection of who they are and what they have done. In the account of this many Blast Beaks write autobiographies on themselves and their previous lives to know their past if they deem their lives worthy of this. Since their flame is directly tied to their emotions their flames will change to blue if sad or frightened giving them a light in darkness that reaches only 5 feet around them, if they are currently not expressing any emotions and are calm and collected their flame will be red giving them 10 feet sight in the darkness, if they are happy or excited their flame will be green giving them 15 feet of sight in the dark, however if they reach the peak of anger a Blast Beaks flame will burst into a bright white light blinding any who look directly at it for 1 turn while also giving 30 feet of sight in the darkness. Usually a Blast Beak stands from 5.5-6.5 feet tall and weigh from 150-225 lbs. If they decide they must swim they will do so but take 2 damage per five feet they travel while boiling the water around them.
