Homebrew Adaptations Species Details

Adaptations are immortal creatures created at the dawn of time to conquer the realms. Born with formless bodies, these creatures copy other organisms' mannerisms and make them their own. Their creator wished for them to learn about the new world, steadily becoming one with the life that inhabited it. However, as the realms were still new, the Adaptations had to wait before they interpret the vast lands. Centuries passed, and the creatures steadily integrated with life throughout the planes. Some became wild monsters, and others articulate mages. No matter their form, each one wonders the world contemplating the same question. What were they made to learn?

Adaptations Traits

Your immortal form has a variety of natural abilities, each one a tool for your god-given task.

Ability Score Increase

Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age

Being a formless creature, you live for an eternity by natural means.

Size

You are naturally medium, but your size varies based on your current form.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet, but it changes based on your current form. 

Everchanging Form

Your body can change at will, becoming something else entirely. As an action, you can morph into any creature CR 1 and below. You inherit all of the creature's stats but still keep your core values, such as alignment and character traits. If you fall to zero hitpoints while transformed, your body returns to its natural state.

Immortal Explorer

You gain proficiency in Investigation or Perception.

Language

You can speak, read, and write Common and two other languages. Notably, whenever you transform into another creature, you inherit their languages instead.
